You need a DVI to HDMI connector. You will need to connect the audio separately to your sound system as DVI does not support audio.

Hi,

Please check for the followings:

1. Check if display cable (which connects monitor to your display card in system motherboard) is properly connected.

2. Check to see if you have proper voltage maintain for your monitor and set the monitor to be used at 60hz.

3. Try using different display cable from another monitor or buy new one and see if this solves the problem.

Please do rate my solution as this will help me give you more proper solutions in the future.

Do let me know if these solutions are ineffective so that I could go for some alternate possible solutions for your problem.

Kind regards,

KK

I want to connect directly to a computer monitor

The standard cable for an XBOX360 does not connect to a monitor. To do so, your monitor would have to have RCA jacks. However, they do sell a XBOX360 cable that has a monitor connector.

Cannot display anything at all, sounds it is working but, cannot dispaly boot screen and rest???

Try connecting an external monitor to the Dell Latitude D820. If the monitor display is fine, then your laptop’s LCD display panel is defective. If the monitor has no display, then your problem is with either the video card or motherboard located inside your laptop.

Game console and plasma displays

You did not list which console you have and what type of cables it has.

Looks like your plasma has:
1 component
1 composite
1 VGA
1 S-Video

If this is an xbox360 or PS3 then you will want to use the component connection, but this one is already used by the cable tuner. Don't worry there is a solution. The xbox360 and ps3 output a higher resolution that your plasma can handle, so use the component with those systems.

If it is an older console, predating the xbox360, then use the composite or S-video connections.

Since you are short on video inputs, you might need a video switch. A switch with both component and S-video connections for future add-ons.

You can find them all over the web, or your local video store like walmart and best buy. Here is a switch i found on ebay that should work:

here is the ebay search i used:
http://tinyurl.com/2ograc

Make sure you buy extra cables, most of these boxes do not come with cables, so buy what you need.

I prefer video switches that don't require a power outlet, but it's your choice. Some of the powered switches, have remotes for the lazy people, but I don't need anymore remotes on my table, keep that in mind.

Acer AL1916W 19" LCD Monitor Blacking out

This is not a setting or driver issue! The best way to determine this is to connect the monitor up to another device to see if the same thing occurs! If it does then your backlight is in bad shape and it is starting to go bad. It will generate enough power to display some images, but when it continues to be on for a certain peirod of time it goes black. This is common when the backlight is starting to go bad!

Emachines 1900+ gets power to the monitor and computer but wont boot

There could be a number of causes. Do you hear any beeps when the computer starts up? Try seating all the chips in the motherboard. That means, apply pressure to each individual chip on the motherboard with your finger or thumb. The goal is to make sure each chip is securely attached to the board. Sometimes, heat or new h/w installs partially "pop" some of the chips out of the motherboard - causing the circuitry to be disconnected...
