It could also be a short circuit caused by a nick in one of the speaker cables. This happened to me as I had a cable caught in the pivoting TV bracket. Repaired the cable with a 'chocolate block' connector and all was fine thereafter. Hope this helps.

I have a samsung home cinema ht-tz212 keep saying protect and not working

its most likely over heated. Try removing the plug and moving it away from the tv and any heated areas for atleast a day, then try turning it on and it should work..
If it only goes into protect when you put a dvd in then change the regional code.

Ht-z210 home cinema protect error

Protection Error means that there is a malfunctioning component inside your unit. It will go into protection mode and immediately shut down to protect your system from any further damage. Unfortunately you would have to bring it to a dealer or repair shop to diagnose the exact malfunction and that could be expensive.

Samsung HT-A100 Home Cinema system plays cd only with tv on!

Hi,
You need to put away the remote for your TV and use only the remote for your HT system. Your HT remote should work on your TV by default. Your Samsung HT remote should have a TV button and a DVD/Receiver button (or HT button). When using only the TV, press the TV button and then use it for just the TV and when using the HT system, press the DVD/Receiver button and then you can use the HT system.
If for some reason your TV is not set on the Samsung HT remote by default, your HT users manual should have a list of codes that you can use to program your HT remote. Hope that helps you. Gary

When turn on ht-tz212 it shows protect and turnes off again

I the same problem. When I opened the system up I find that I have a burnt out resistor on the power supply board. Can anyone tell me the value of Resistor number SWR60, which is located fairly central on the board.

Many Thanks

SAMSUNG HT-TZ212 home cinema kit comes up with protect

Protect mode will kicking whenever a fault is detected.

Causes that can start protect mode are:

Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.

Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.

Internal fault.
Internal fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the product documentation.

Regards.
