Re: i can't make my oven to work

I think we have this sorted. Thanks for helping. We just got the cooker two days ago and this is the first we tried the oven. We held Number 8 in for 2 mins to make sure it was working and that solved the problem.

Thanks to the original poster for the solution.

Merry Christmas.

Re: i can't make my oven to work

That model has an electric ignition ? you turn the oven to full (8), keep the dial pressed in & press the ignition switch.
You should hear the clicking & if you look at the bottom of your oven you should see a flame through a small round hole.

You have to keep the dial(not the ignition, the dial(8)) pressed in for about 30 seconds for the thermocouple to warm up before you let it go else the flame will just go out. ( if the thermocouple isn't warm enough it will cu off the gas, safety incase of loss of flame or accidental use of oven)

Oven wont work everything else is fine

As your oven is electric there is a heating element in the oven, have a look in the oven to find it and check the little plug in caps on the end to make sure they are not loose. If they,re ok check the switch on the front panel sometimes the knob comes loose on the spindle if that's all ok it may be the switch has failed. Good luck.

The fan is working bt the oven isnt getting hot

I assume you have already checked the gas supply by turning on a burner on top.

Do you smell gas when the oven first tries to light? If the flame sensor isn't picking up a fire on the oven burner within a few seconds after the igniter is supposed to start firing, it will shut off the gas valve. The first thing to check is the oven igniter. Can you hear it sparking (repeated snapping sound until main flame starts)? The sound may be drowned out by the fan, so hearing it would only verify that it's making sparks; not hearing it doesn't tell you anything unless you were able to hear it before the problem started. If you had a major spill in the oven recently, it's possible some residue made its way to the igniter or pilot flame tube and is gumming up the works.

The next items to check would be the oven gas valve and thermostat.

My gas stove light is not coming on when I try to light it. i hear the sound of gas coming out but no light/fire comes out of the burner

This is probally the ignitor is failing. To check this you will need to do an amp draw test. For a free video to walk you thru this go to click on the video on troubleshooting a gas oven.

Oven not heating

On the bottom is a link of what your oven is. I'm pretty sure it's the ingnightor #16. You should see a glow red hot when you turn on the oven or broil. Very common problem and pretty reasonable price to repair. Unless that glows and get's red hot, it will not turn on the gas. I think that should do it. Let me know if you need anything else. My oven doesn't work.

before you replace the control panel, take a quick look inside the oven at the ceramic spark starter.. when you (tyr to) turn your oven on you should hear a bunch of little snap sounds.. sparks trying to light the burners inside the oven..

if you try to use the element (broil) without the gas - you'll get a better bearing on whether or not the gas element(s) are lighting or not inside the oven..

hope that helps..

Gas isn't coming on for "Bake"

First the ignitor must glow very bright / compare the broiler ignitor to the bake on... the ignitor must pull 3.6 amps to open the gas valve... so even if it does glow it must glow bright and evenly to pull the 3.6 amp... you can test it if you have an AMP meter...

Gas valve do fail but it is rare... it is most likely a weak ignitor... hope it help please let me know...

Sounds like the sparker in the oven isn't correctly installed, if you hear gas try and light it with a lighter, (WATCH OUT FOR YOUR FACE)
