Power light blinks repeatedly on my Philips TP3284C
I'm not exactly sure what caused the TV to do this but, it will no longer turn on. You can hear the relay click, but the tube does not try to turn on. The power light just blinks continuously until unplugged. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The relays are located in the central electrics unit behind the fuses and in an additional holder just to the front of the main circuit. This particular one I am not sure. If you think it is suspect or a problem with the system turn the engine. If the relay is working you should hear a click as it is energised. Hearing this may lead you to it. Unfortunately if you don't hear the click the relay is beat and I am afraid I still cannot point to the exact location. If you do hear the click and still have a problem If it is being energised you have a problem with a component or wiring. I am not an expert but I hope this helps.
I need to know how long do you have the tv?In the other word, approx. how many hours you have put into it? Secondly, did you wall mounted the tv or setting it close the the area which there is not much room for the back of your tv to breath? solutiondoct
I don't know why but this got my TV on.
I took off the back cover and found the source of the clicking.
Two blue plastic rectangular relays in the exact middle.
When I pushed the power button, I felt the top relay click, and I saw a flash from the bottom one. (they are right next to each other)
I took a hair dryer and placed it over the two relays for about 1 minute and tried the power.
It clicked only 4 times and then came on!!!!!!!!!
For some reason heat helps the relay.
If anyone is a tech and can explain this, please do.
My tv is on and it didn't cost me anything.
I just can't turn it off now!!!
If you had a burning smell, well the board is toast. These sets are made to replace the entire board at one time. Before installing the replacement module, the picture tube should be checked. A defective picture tube ( such as a G1 short) may cause a failure in the power supply section.
