I finally got win7 loaded back on the laptop. I attempted to run the diagnostics again and I still get the same error. How do I clear the log so I can run the test again and verify if I have a hard disk issue or not?

    OK!!

If this Code is Still there, it sounds as you need to replace the Hard Drive. On Most Occasions, this is a Hard Drive Error Code. The error code itself means the electronics in the hard drive itself are failing. You can try a few things. When you boot into XP, double click on "My Computer", and then RIGHT CLICK on Drive C:. There is a tab called tools. Start by running a Scan-disk on the drive. It will require you to reboot your machine. Then when scan-disk is done, run a De-fragment on the drive. Run your DST again and see if you still get the error. If so, may I suggest starting to back up all your needed data and important stuff, cause the drive could fail. I have talked to some owners who's drive lasted another month, and some where they just died the next day. Better to be safe than sorry!

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
