If set displays intermittent green outlines around images, check DVI cable attached to DMD board from digital board. Poor connections on the DVI jack on the DMD board can cause the intermittent symptom. Pull up slightly on the body of the DVI cable connector and check video. Replace DMD board as necessary.

It is going to be one of two basic issues:

1. There is a poor connection somewhere in the set--either with a plug or cable or on one of the boards.

2. There is a board that is beginning to fail causing this.

Either would require a shop and may or may not be worth the cause.

Having seen hundreds of these sets all are more prone to flaky problems than the older sets and average life span is 3-5 years.

Shop I work for 80% of them are 2 years old or less.

If problem began shortly after set was moved or relocated I would lean towards a bad connection somewhere.

The only color I have on my tv is green. How do I fix this problem

If you have an older set you probably need to turn up the screen drives on the red and blue guns. The largest part of the color signal is the green with red and blue much less. If the gun drives put out less as they age, and they will, periodically the screen drives need boosted. I have a tip at

This will walk you through the process of setting the screen drives.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

The screen on my LG flatscreen tv, which is only about 1 year old, suddenly went to bright picture at all, just bright green. You can still hear the sound. Any ideas?

No on screen menu either? Also it does this green screen on all inputs?
It can be the T-CON board or the main board, it will need real in-depth and service manual to narrow it down to the exact board without trying to fix by replacing the boards until the problem is fixed since the boards are not cheap.
Please let us know if it does this on ALL inputs or not.

Sony KDS-50A2000 screen is in green tint

My Sony KDS 50 A2000 is 17 months old. Its the 50 Inch SXRD projection model. About two weeks ago the screen developed a green tint with cannot be tuned out, then a few days later the message began to appear on the screen that the bulb was nearing the end of its life and must be replaced.
Fortunately I have the Circuit City extended warranty.
I called and within just a few days a serviceman came out and replaced the projection bulb.
The Result: No change in the picture, the green tint remains on all channels, so I'm awating the next service call. Under the service warranty they have the option to repair or replace this set. If indeed this is the light engine (optical block) which I suspect and its going to cost $1,000 or more I may be looking at a new set.
When it works this is a great TV, but I have had three Sonys now including two other standard CRT models and now this one joins them in the junk heap, the other two also bit the dust after just about two years. Is it time to give up on Sony?
I know they have a class action suit on a similar model for this same problem. Caveat emptor

2 year old Samsung 50" DLP

Sounds like a bad digital board to me. Not too hard to replace in those models but, you do have to write down a few settings before replacing it. These settings are available in the service menu. Any questions let me know
