Cannot get scanner driver for canoscan3200f OS win 7 64bit

My puter doesn't register the scanner in 'printers/scanner devices

    still not for win 7 64 bit.
    will 32 bit work on my 64 bit computer ?

Here is the link to get your scanner drivers, just select your Operating System and download the correct file, once downloaded, unplug your scanner, reboot your computer, install the software you just downloaded, and plug in the scanner either when it asks you to, or when all the software is done installing. Which driver set did you install? Did you install the HP basic drivers, the full software or the Windows XP built-in driver? The Windows OS driver usually only is the printer driver.

If you connected the USB cable before installing the HP software, you will get the OS drivers. Disconnect the USB cable and then uninstall the printer driver. (Start > Control Panel > Printers and Devices. Then right click on the printer and select Remove Device.)

Install the HP software. If you want to launch a scan from the all-in-one's front panel button, install the full software.

Next open the scan software on your computer. (This is the HP Solutions Center for most models if you use the full software.) Attempt to launch a scan from the software. Adjust the resolution and other settings as needed. Then use those settings to adjust the destinations for the front panel buttons in the software. (Settings > Scan Settings > Button Settings)

If this doesn't work, try a different USB cable, a different USB port on your computer and a direct connection (if you are using a USB hub). Scanners require bi-directional communication with the computer and may fail when the printer works due to a minor cable issue. If you have the printer connected to a router or similar device to turn it into a network printer, again the scanner will not work. Again the direct connection to the computer is needed.

If you are still having trouble, can you use the all-in-one's copy function? If not, do you have any error messages? If the scanner mechanism isn't moving, the unit probably needs service. (This model doesn't have a scanner lock to protect the mechanism in transit.)

I have a older puter with vistas OS and my scanner is not recognized when i connect it?

Your device will run under XP but no more under Vista or Windows XP . HP doesn't support this unit anymore .
Installing a Virtual version of XP on your system or genuine version on a secundary are the only options .

FocusBT 1633 scanner will not scan. Windows XP says USB device is unrecognized. Owners manual indicates there should be an installation CD included for proper driver installation but Honeywell support...


win xp is a far outdated os and may not be compatible with the scanner
click on scanner properties and then the compatibility tab and see that the small square is ticked and then high light win xp as the OS
If there is no win xp , it will not work
if all is there then get the honeywell web site open and down load the driver for that scanner

The drivers I have for my Plustek Optic Pro 4800P scanner are for Win 3.1 / 95 / 98, and are not compatible with Win XP.


Yeah, scanners do not cross OS very well. Older scanners are the worst. You need to get a new one, but consider an all in one printer..They have been getting better. And now can be installed directly into your router, for non hosted sharing. You need to do an actual install on each system, but each system can run the unit like they were hosting it.

I have a dell 946 all in one printer... everything works but the scanner... I just purchased a new computer that has vista and my old computer had xp... worked fine on old puter... any suggestions


You need a new driver from Dell that funtions with Vista. If you have Vista X64 OS then this function may not be available for a while longer as the driver for the scanner is still in development. There is a significant difference between a 32-bit and 64-bit OS.

I'm running into networking problems with my Vista X64 OS and a printer on my home network that connects through XP Pro on a desktop computer with a 32-bit OS.

A Windoze Vista 32-bit laptop has no problems with this printer.

I HAVE THE SCANNER ATTACHED TO HP 4050 LASERJET PRINTER
What does that mean?
scanner should not be connected to anything but the computer.
Did you have the software disk for the scanner?
