Look on the front of the tray where the eject button is There should be a small round hole, this is for ejecting a stuck disk. Just open out a paper clip and insert in to the hole and press until the tray opens.
Use a pin and insert in the emergency eject hole (usually in the center below the tray) and then you can eject the drive tray with force. It is time you planned for a new drive.
Untill then please insert a music CD into the drive tray and leave it there, this will ensure the eject will work (most of the time). Booting time will definitely increase if the drive has issues, reading or responding.
The drive may have come loose in your pc and is stopping the door to open.Hold open the front flap and press the eject button. If it wont eject your disk straighten out a paperclip and holding the front flap open look at the front of your drive and you will see a small hole.Push the paperclip through the hole and it will release the catch and eject your disk, You may have to push hard .Hope this helps you. There is usually an emergency eject. It is a small hole near the door. This runs the eject mechanism. Straighten a paper clip partly and push into the eject hole, straight in. It is possible the writer has not completed a write on the disc due to a defect, power failure or a bad disk. The writer maybe defective and the next disk will also jam.
Hello, If there is CD/DVD stuck inside:look for a small hole on the face of the drive and insert a paper clip, and press a bit, the drive will open. If that does not do the trick, look for an icon on the systray (where the clock is shown) . It represents a square inside which there is disk. The tooltip (bubble) should read Optical Drive Power (on or off). If you click on it it shows a two item menu Power On Power Off with a tick mark near one of them. Click Power ON.
Double check the Ribbon Cable Connector is installed Correctly ( 40-80 Strand IDE ) sometimes if these are not fitted squarely Or pushed in hard enough. Can cause a Problem.
Also try the emergency eject procedure on The Drive. Small jewellers screwdriver Or Needle, insert into the drives faceplate ( pinhole in drives faceplate drawer ) push to open dvd drawer. pull out drawer Gently. And push back in. This ocassionally works for a stcking Drawer/eject mechanism.
Finally try the drive without a disk in ( open/eject Or Close )
