A friend of mine just purchased one of these boards and is extremely impressed with it but when he first bought it he bought some lower grade ram and had a lot of troubles with it. He went to Kingston ram DDR2 1366 and it ran perfectly. I don't know what kind you bought but the board is very picky about the ram. The other thing to try is unplugging the hard drives, cdrom and any add on cards except video and see if it boots. up. If this works then add your harddrives, cd and addons back one at a time.

My computer wont boot after i shutdown.

it sounds like blue screen of death. It must be going back to last known configuration when trying to boot up. Check your event viewer for errors. You may have a software installed that is for another operating system or a 32 bit drivers on a 64 bit computer etc. If you can remember the last software you installed uninstall it and see if it settles down. Incompatible ram or other like IRQ errors can cause this (if IRQ then move a card to another slot and boot up).

My Gigabyte GA-A75M-UD2H gets in a boot cycle when i try to install os

Hello try to start in failsafe mode by pressing F8 and remove the file in add/remove programs and make a restart.
My guess is that the file is broken or invalid.

Make sure that you have:

Service pack 1
All your drivers is updated.
And there is enoug room for ubuntu on the harddrive.
And make sure ubuntu fits your system.
And download the file at ubuntu here is less chance for getting virus.

http://www.ubuntu.com/

Try also to look for updates here at gigabytes:

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3928#dl

There is some settings that must be right when you set up ubuntu.

Try also to look at youtube there is a lot of videos with setting up ubuntu.

Good luck

Hello, im having trouble with my motherboard (Gigabyte GA-8IPE775-G) im trying to re-install Windows XP on a brand new HDD and it can see it in Bios (set 1st boot to CD 2nd HDD) but won't let me...

Owners manual can be found here : http://www.retrevo.com/support/Gigabyte-GA-8IPE775-G-manual/id/23285bh940/t/2/
As to the boot process, its been my experience that if you can actually get into bios, then there isn't any problem with it. Problems usualy arise becoase of a setting chianged inside bios. Have you tried resetting bios to defaults to see if that changes anything?
BTW, have you formatted the new harddrive? Re-install works a heck of a lot better with a properly formatted harddrive.
Hope that helps.
Cheers from NZ

Gigabyte k8m800-8237 won't boot with 2nd gig ram installed.

Could have been dusty. Find a copy of Memtest and run it to check things out. Errors could mean a bad stick or bad slot.
