Question about ViewSonic VE510S 15" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Hello, I need to replace the cord that connects my monitor to my PC. It's a Viewsonic VE510s monitor. Yes, I could replace the whole monitor, but that seems wasteful. My bunny chewed the cord... where can I get this replaced?

What you need is a simple VGA cable which is available at all computer and most office supply stores. Here's an example from Staples....

ViewSonic monitor is starting to go dark

See if your monitor has a brightness control. The manual is here...
http://www.viewsonic.com/us/support/downloads/search_user_guides/

1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.

I got a vg930m veiwsonic monitor and i try playin music and doing other tasks and i get no sound out of the built in speakers do i need a audio cord to get sound or what do i do

Yes many monitors (with the exception of some HDMI connections) require a separate cable to connect audio to the built in speakers on the monitor. I hope this answers your question.

Common failures in this monitor is the 470uF caps in the inverter section (close to the inverter transformers), but you should replace all the caps in the 5vdc and the 12vdc as a whole set. See example of failed VIEWSONIC monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

LCD monitor (viewsonic va720) "No signal"

You will need to disconnect the VGA cord that is connecting the monitor to the hard drive. Once you have that disconnected, try attaching another cord to determine if the cord is the issue. If you dont have another cord to test, then you will have to purchase another one from your local computer parts store and attach to determine if that is the issue you are having.

If the cord does not work, then you will have to take your monitor into a repair shop as there maybe an issue with the receiving port on the monitor.

I hope this was helpful and thanks for asking the experts.

My viewsonic monitor works fine for some time but the n suddenly stops displaying even though the power cord is fine ...after some time it comes alive or some times by fidgeting with the power cord.....

It sounds like a loose connection. The easy thing to try is to replace the power cord to make sure that's not the problem. If that doesn't fix it, it's probably a broken or loose wire inside the monitor that you would need to trace down with a multimeter.

How do you change the resolution on a Viewsonic VE510S

Click Start, then Control Panel, now Display and then Screen Resolution. There should be a slide bar there that goes left or right.

Keep in mind, it depends what kind of video card you have. If you can only go up to 1280x800, but your monitor supports 1680x1050 it's because of the video card.
Hope that helped.

I have a viewsonic 22'' (I think) model VX2235wm. It has both digital and analog connections in back. Can I use both -- one going to one PC, the other to a 2nd PC -- and switch between them?

yes you can. If you need further assistance on how to do it please let me know though its as simple as switching inputs with the buttons on the monitor.
Thank you,

Monitor Audio

Yes you will want to use that line out. that looks like the 3.5mm head phone jack. So if you don't have one all you should need is a 3.5mm patch cable. available at any electronic store/radio shack.
Enjoy,

Monitor has no picture

Yes! :)

Your monitor is not the problem. Check all the connections from the back of the monitor, to the computer.

"No Signal Analog" means your monitor is working perfectly, however is not receiving signal from the computer.

Didnt find any loose cables?
Try unplugging everything. Leave it unplugged for at least 5 minutes. You need to give the system time to drain all the excess power.

Again your monitor is fine, blue light > No signal > orange light is totally normal for your montior.
