Question about Televison & Video
42" Vizio lcd which is a year old just up and quit working. The screen went black and no sound at all. I could not even shut the tv off had to unplug it in order to shut it down. I tried it again the next day, plugged it in turned it on. Still no picture and no sound. I had to again unplug the tv to shut it off. I check my cables and they are good.
I am Sorry, This is a Duplicate Question that was already Answered by Me.Let me again Copy the Reply that u gave :-
I am familiar with this type of TV, I haven't seen a lot of bad Vizios though. I think the likely problem is your power supply.
Is this something you would like to repair yourself? Do you have a multimeter and good soldering tools?
If so, this area of the TV comprises some fuses, a bridge rectifier (4 diodes) a couple of capacitors and a regulator that would need to be checked. If it all checks OK, we can move on to something else.
If you take it to a shop, I think you are looking at a $35 estimating fee and a $200-$300 repair bill.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
