My computer just shut down inadvertently and the item I was working on in circus ponies notebook was saved. However, when I reopened the file the information was not there. Is there a place I could look for file recovery?

I inadvertently used a search engine ASK to download some irs files. Now can't get rid of it. It has taken over firefox.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings

What does the refresh feature do? All of your Firefox settings and personal information are stored in a profile folder. The refresh feature works by creating a new profile folder for you while saving your important data.
Add-ons which are normally stored inside the Firefox profile folder, such as extensions and themes, will be removed. Add-ons stored in other locations, such as plugins, will not be removed but any modified preferences (such as plugins you have disabled) will be reset.
Firefox will save these items:
  • Bookmarks
  • Browsing history
  • Passwords
  • Open windows, tabs and tab groups
  • Cookies
  • Web form auto-fill information
  • Personal dictionary
These items and settings will be removed: Note: Your old Firefox profile will be placed on your desktop in a folder named "Old Firefox Data". If the refresh didn't fix your problem you can restore some of the information not saved by copying files to the new profile that was created. If you don't need this folder any longer, you should delete it as it contains sensitive information.

I am using Magix Video Easy HD. I was busy

Hi,
sometimes the file just doesn't get saved as it may be to be big.
But to resolve this:
save it;
go to the location you've saved it in;
check if it's there;
open it( if you want).

You may try looking it up using Search.

Closed a tab without saving changes

Maybe. Reopen it and click "EDIT." If you are in luck, you can click "UNDO" Depends if you shut down the program or not. If you closed the program totally or shut down the PC, it most likely won't work.

when you say you can retrieve the information is the file lost or just become corrupt? if you not sure where it saved to reopen the program and select save as again to see where it saves, if its just not opening you could try this free online converter to see if that will fix the file
