Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have recently moved and have put my LG home theatre system back together. I have my speakers in storage and now I cannot work out how to get sound running back through the TV when playing a DVD. Vision is OK through the AV1 input, just not sound. I have a yellow and white AV cable and have tried various options with the different ports on both the TV and DVD with no sound resulting! Can you please guide me as to what the right connection should be?

I cut the wires to my home theatre speakers and I want to splice them back together. How do i do it?

Dont worry this is easy,
1. Strip the wires back about 1/2" each
2. Twist the ends together nice & tight
3. Wrap the exposed wire with electrical tape so you cant see the bare wire
4. test run the speakers
5. If you get any feed back or it sounds bad switch the wires around on the back of the speakers

That should do it
Good Luck

No sound though home theater when watching tv

There is an orange button on the remote, half way down in the middle. I belive it has orange lettering and says something like "TV-?" press that, and the sound should start to come through your speaker system. You can then use the original remote that came with your TV and turn the sound off on the TV to use just the theatre system. I noticed that if you use the TV speakers in conjunction with the theatre system, that it echo's.

Home theatre but TV without audio outlet

I would suggest that you smash
Philips HTS w/a hammer!
I had better sound from TV alone! Only 2 speakers put out sound from TV. Recordings from DVR can not be heard very well w/all volumes at max. System sucks! You get what you pay for! $2500 LCD TV sounds worse w/Philips HTS than my son's $300 TV! ALL cables hooked up as instucted!!!!
