I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with my reddy heater. It comes on for a few seconds before it trips and cuts off. The fan is working, the ignitor is working but there is no fuel coming through. I have checked the line and it is not clogged. Do you have any suggestions ?

Check to see if the pump vanes in the back of the heater are free and not fouled, also be sure to check the pump pressure, most problems with these heaters are related to pump pressure. be sure to set the pressure to the exact spec, down to a tenth of psi

I have reddy htr 35 was running great, just stopped reset breaker lit right up then went out Pulled cover off fan and spark fine reset it lights right up can see the fuel atomizing flame starts...

Check your fuel lines and most models have a fuel filter in line. A few things come to mind one how old is the fuel? Check the screen in the nozzle assembly by removing nozzle it sits directly behind the nozzle, these corrode and affect fuel flow. While you have this tore down clean the fire-eye with windex and terry cloth rag, it may not be seeing the flame. Check the air filter at the back of the heater as well. These are common problems with these heaters.

I have a Reddy Heater 70,000BTU without a thermostat. It will flare off and within a few seconds the fire goes out and then the it trips out. After a few tries it won't even flare off. What might be wrong?

hello. Your reddy heater is dirty and needs a good cleaning. Also, here are a few other possible reasons why it won't operate properly. Pressure not adjusted to 5.1 psi, dirty outlet filter, clogged inlet filter, bad or dirty photo cell, defective reset switch, pump going bad, dirty injector nozzle, dirty fuel filter, contaminated fuel. Check yours out and do what you can to address each area of concern. Regards, Joe

When filled with kerosene then plugged in, the heater will kick on for about 3 seconds and the fan will run but it will not ignite, then it shuts off. reddy heater 55, 55000btu. runs on K1 or fuel oil.

Reddy heater cuts out after 30 seconds

this problem is common with this type of heater and usually means that the fan is not pushing enough air over the heat exchanger and is tripping the high limit switch.check the fan
