You may have a problem there since the output of the PC is in stereo and the mike of the telephone is in mono.

This is what you can do, use a stereo plug to connect to the PC. Get the left channel (this is the same channel for mono) wire and use this to connect to the mike of the telephone.

Whatever you play on your PC can then be heard by your friend.

Cobra 25 ltd wx classic

the mics on these cobras have a receive wire in them so the transmit will still work even if the receive wire is broken,if this wire is broken the unit will not make any sound...........remove the plug from the radio end of the mic and check the connections on the 5 pin connector.....(could be a cold solder or broken wire) or try a new mic or one that is proven work on another radio
hope this helps.................good luck!

My computer can't detect my friend's headset

A lot depends on two things

How they connect, Bluetooth or wired.

The sound card in the computer.

If Bluetooth, it has to be paired. If wired it has to be in the correct socket and they are seldom marked.

Some sound cards are not Duplex, in other words they can only listen or transmit, not both. There are also Sound Mixer controls in Settings, and one of them is a box that has a check mark for MUTE. You can usually get to these settings from the icons down in the Systray by the clock.

Cant transmit

Hello Darren, Yes it sounds like the mic is wired bass ackwards,,! A cobra 25 mic wiring is
PIN #1- Shield or ground wire
PIN#2- Audio or Transmit modulation
PIN #3- Transmit or Dead Key
PIN #4- Receive Audio.
When your keying the mic, the RX wires are being connected to make the RX work,,,
*** Let me know how you get along with it. Either buy a new mic wired for your radio or you or someone comfortable with soldering needs to resolder the correct wires back on the mic plug,,,Like I said, let me know and have a great day,, Mechanic is back quiet!

Hi,may i ask?

  • MODEM is a modulator-demodulator.

IS A HARDWARE, modem is a device that enables a computer to transmit data over, for example, telephone or cable lines. Information is stored digitally whereas information transmitted over telephone lines is transmitted in the form of analog waves. A modem converts between these two forms.

  • while Audio driver, IS A SOFTWARE
A driver is software that allows your computer to communicate with hardware or devices. Without drivers, the hardware you connect to your computer—for example, a video card or a webcam—will not work properly. In most cases, drivers come with Windows or can be found by going to Windows Update in Control Panel and checking for updates. If Windows doesn't have the driver you need, you can find it on the disc that came with the hardware or device you want to use, or on the manufacturer's website.
