Re: mp3 player

Try uninstalling the version of the software that came with the CD and re-installing the new version on the Philips website (just added).

My mp3 player is paused & wont play

Possible that the player has hung up . On most players there is a RESET tiny switch that needs to be depressed for few seconds to recover the processor. If this wont work then connect the player to the PC and remove all the files , clean the memory and reinstall ONLY valid files that are readble and converted for the player- check for drivers of the player to be downloaded to the PC for media transfer.

The device won't play; time-counter stays at 00:00; NOT on hold.

Reset the player then try playing songs. Ensure that the battery is fully charged. You may also try formatting the player to reload musics. If the issue persists then get the player serviced.

My Creative Zen has a white screen but syill plays music
1. Fully charge the unit
2. Get a song to play
3. Lock the device
4. Wait for black screen and leave it like that for 20 seconds
5. Hold the play/pause button down and move the side switch out of lock mode, then push all the way down (like you're turning it off) and release (back to middle position)
6. Release the play/pause button

My gogear wont turn on

Could be corrupt firmware:

Install and run Philips Device Manager from the product CD.

Press and hold [PLAY/PAUSE] on the player whilst connecting to the PC.

Follow the on-screen prompts.

This will format the player and replace the firmware.

Computer does not show MP3 player as connected and how to stop a song playing

If you installed the firmware update, you might have forgotten to change the device to MSC mode.. try going to settings>USB mode>MSC This should probably work.. to stop a song while its playing, click the |<< button while you have the screen with the current song. (you can pause a song on this same screen with the >|| button) If you have gone back to any of the menu screens, wait for a couple seconds and the player will automatically go back tot he song display screen so you can stop the song.
