Try programming it again and see if that helps. Press and immediately release the smart/learn button and then walk over to your keypad and key in your 4 digit code and press enter.

Craftman garage pad doesn't work. When I put in code it just flashes. What do I do to get it to work?

Sounds like, A. Putting in wrong code! B. Battery is bad/going bad! C. The wireless keypad some how been rested.

If A and B isnt it, and C maybe the reason! Here is what you should do.

On the back side of operator possibly behind a plastic light cover or not! You will see a purple, red or gray square button referred to as the "smart button" witch you will need to press and release then enter 4 digit code on pad then press and hold enter till you hear the operator click and in some cases also lights will flash then release the enter button on key pad and it should work....

If you have a external receiver wired to the operator then locate the button on it and repeat same prosse.

If A, B or C doesnt work then its a faulty pad!

Cannot program new garage code

You are missing a step. It sounds like you have a genie intellicode black wireless keyless entry unit. The final step is to program to the opener. When you open halfway and press the prog and 8 keys, youve unlearned the unit from the opener. Lets start over. Complete the previous steps and then finally, press the code or learn button on the opener. There is a red LED light next to it which will flash after pressing it. Within 30 seconds, type your new code and press the up/down or enter button on the keypad. Then press the up/down or enter button a second time. Programming is complete!

Our keyless entry pad flashes when we enter the code and press 0 to open the garage door. It used to work fine. Garage door does open with wall switch inside.

On this model of keypad, you should be pressing "Enter" to open the door. Find the "Learn" button on your opener (usually on the back, or under the rear or side light cover, a red square button), press it, then go to your keypad, enter your 4-digit code, and press enter. The opener lights should flash. If this doesn't work, there may be another issue, for which you will likely need to contact a repair service.

Tried to reprogram security code for outdoor key pad on 1/2hp craftsman garage door opener according to instructions online, pressed learn button- put in new 4 digit code-held enter. Lights did not flash...

Seems you've done everything right. Press and immediately release the smart/learn button and then walk over and key in a 4 digit code and press enter. If you are sure the battery in the keypad is good then I think your keypad is on the fritz or the wrong one for that opener.
