The power supply of the turntable needs checking. It could be just a fuse or something more serious, such as a faulty transformer.

My technics SC-HD 51 does not respond to power on when the power button is pressed ,what fault can that be?

Take your pick, the power switch itself, Mains transformer, blown fuse, anything in the power supply that's fried or has died.

Power supply transformer

As transformers are safety parts you should only replace it with the same type or one approved by Technics. I should contact them for a supplier of the part.

There is power going through my technics 1210,but the platter & strobe light still will not work

how do you know theres power to the unit if theirs no strobe light pitch adjuster light & the platter doesn't spin?
the power comes in & to the transformer first, then through the strobe switch, the transformer is what blows when you short the target light out.....i've seen this many a time when people try & change the target lights to blue neon.

My Technics SL-MC7 was zapped by a power surge. I am looking for a power supply. The part number on the PS is CMKS-P3X but when I search it I get hits for a copier PS that does not look like the one I...

You will need a service manual to get the correct part number. Go online to Technics, contact customer support and technical department to see if they can provide one.

My technics 1200 mk5 is blowing a 125V 250 mA fuse on the board just after the transformer

There must be a shorted power transistor in the power supply area. Check the voltage output of the transistor to determine which part is having a short circuit.

I have a technics and everytime i plug in it keeps clicking but nothing else the power button lights up

I dont know what kind of clicking is being heard. It might sound like a dead power transformer not clicking over. Or it might be you have some crossed speaker wires. If you did any kind of rewiring recently remove and cut off 1 inch on all ends of speaker wire at receiver end as well as speaker side and twist nice and tightly to not allow any stray wires from crossing over to the other terminals. Sometimes speakers have a protect mode when it sees a crossed cable. I am not quite sure but it is a good place to start looking. Good luck.

TRANSFORMER BLOWN

Hi
Most  transformers have a thermal fuse fitted, this can be bypassed/replaced  to get the amp working again. Are you up to having a go at fixing it?

Your transformer's need to be replaced. This is the big grey metal looking box near the fuses. The fuses do not offer much protection, and the only thing generally affected is the Power Transformer. If you'd like to attempt a repair yourself, here is the part:

Make sure you choose the correct transformer for your model. If you feel you do not have the experience or do not feel comfortable in performing this repair, take it to an authorized service center. We provide Nationwide service, if you cannot find anyone locally: http://www.tweakrepair.com
