How do I know when I need to replace the battery

Can I replace the battery in my belkin F6C550 AVR with a larger one? The battery compartment seems big enough to hold two stock batteries.

The only thing you will look out for is the specs of the battery. That is the voltage that it gives out. The size usually determines the hours it can provide power on a full charge.

Most ups batteries are 12v, what you need to look for is the "amp hour, or AH rating" usually they are 4-10ah batteries most common rating being 7ah which can upgrade to a 7.5ah or 8ah, but I'd stay closer to the 7 (as in 7.5) if your ups requires MULTIPLE batteries... because there are reports of ups's becoming fire hazards and you wouldn't want that to be because you went "large" by putting mutiple 9ah battery in a 7ah form factor when it wasn't designed to be.

I bught a belkin ups system but i lost the manuel and i dont know how it work . And when i conect the belkin product it me a sound like a beep .

Trust me when I tell you this. That UPS you are looking at, should be replaced. It is too small for computers today, maybe good for your fax machine or answering machine. Computers are getting more powerful, so I recommed, if you loose your manuel, I suspect you are also ready to upgrade to a AVR line interactive 1000VA.

Belkin f6c750-avr repair / Testing

You could be correct on the transformer. I'm kinda leaning towards a bad cell in the battery. Sounds like it will need replacing.

UPS periodically disconnects

You have a smart chip problem. Your unit is too small that would be cost effective to repair.

check out my web page:

I will help you save a few dollars but I think you might need a little bigger UPS then a 550. Try going bigger.

My model FC6120-unv is dead

If you've got nothing my guess is its something more than the battery as it should still be able to draw power if its plugged in. If its within the warranty period (3 yrs, I believe). Go to the belkin webpage and to their ups support and start the process to return it and get it fixed/replaced. A couple months ago I had a F6C500-UNV that suddenly died on me just like yours - no nothing. It cost me $13.00 or so bucks to ship the broken unit to Belkin; a week or two later I got a brand spankin' new F6C550 or whatever they currently sell in that same voltage area back from them. The cost to RMA the broken unit was much cheaper than even buying a new battery for the old and now discontinued unit.
