Try using a different cable to connect the ps3 to the tv it might be looking for a different type of cable if this works you can set to look for the right type of cable under screen settings
you can also try when your turning your ps3 on/off hold it in for 3o secs this resets the AV/HDMI detectionyou can also try when your turning your ps3 on/off hold it in for 3o secs this resets the AV/HDMI detection

My ps3 has the same exact problem. The sony intro screen loads but the menu will not come up. I have never played ps3 online, only use it for games and movies. Anyone know what's wrong?
Video card might be broken, might be able to replace for about $110. If the game is Street Fighter 4, press start rapidly to skip intro and don't play Arcade mode. Can only save using auto-saves after challenges.
Video card might be broken. Might be replacable for around $110. If you have demos, clear hardrive and the only game I can get to work is Street Fighter 4. I have to rapidly press start to skip intro. Arcade mode doesn't work. The only way to save is by auto-saving.
I think your video card may be broken. You might be able to replace the video card for about $110. If you don't want to do that, and you have demos, clear your hard drive. The only game I can get to work is Street Fighter 4, but you have to skip the intro by rapidly pressing start. Arcade mode won't work and the only way to save is by auto-saving (like after challenges). I really hope that I helped.
maybe the tv you are using is not very well compatible with those game since they can be played in HD.try playing thme in another ps3 console or using another tv.
if its not playin any matured rated game someone has had to set rating lock in the ps3 menu hopefully no has set a password to prtect the rating.....i would have said if it was only that game there is an option to turn blood/gore/whatever off in options...i would check in the ps3 menu
if its less than one year and under warranty your best bet is to call Sony and get it replaced/repaired..i had the same problem and had to get the bluray mech replaced {no service in India :( }
hope it helps!regards!
Try connecting the ps3 using the analogue cable ( ones it came with red&white) & change the audio settings in system settings, if its connected to an amp try updating its firmware .Or try to update ps3 firmware (maybe audio bug)
