The computer sees the monitor but the monitor is not responding. The ACER logo flashes on the screen every few seconds but thats it. I tried the monitor on a couple computers and switched out cables as well. So what is it?

If the moniter is an Acer brand, the logo could just be the moniters sceensaver and not the actual computer. If you have tried other computers and connections that you know to be working it would seem to place the fault with the moniter. try googling the brand and model of the moniter to see if there are any known faults and fixes.

Get in to bios acer aspire AST180-ED400A

First shut your computer off. Wait a few seconds (to allow the hard drive to stop spinning) and start the computer again.
Start repeatedly pressing F2 while the Acer logo is displaying. Press it once, wait a second, press, it again, wait another second, and repeat this while the Acer logo is displaying until you see the bios setup screen.

ACER AL1706 powering up, green power light flashes once a second, faint 'flicker' on screen, eventually starts up with the Acer logo, and runs normally.

You may have dying power supply due to bad DC filter caps.
Please see failed ACER and other monitors to see if you will want to DIY repair.

My acer AL2416w monitor turns on to a black screen

I have 2 Acer AL2416W monitors that i have been using for 2 years. There has been a handful of times i would turn my computer on in the morning and the screen would be black and Acer would lightly flash on the monitor 1 time. Typically a restart would take care of the problem. Last week the monitor blacked out and i can't get it to work. Any suggestions?? I switched ports on the computer to verify it wasn't the video card and tried new DVI cables to verify it wasn't those? Is this fixable??

Turn my computer and it starts up normally, however, the monitor never turns on. When I manually turn the monitor on it displays the Acer logo and then goes to the "no signal" screen for a few seconds...

Try the monitor on another computer or a friends computer, if it is working you may need a new graphics card.
Try the monitor first, if your unsure take the machine to a local computer shop for advice, or if you have a computer geek nearby ask them.

Acer AL1914 black screen, green light

it sounds like a deleted driver? try getting the driver for the monitor, did you loose the Operating system at some point, if so try a system restore to a date when the computer was working properlly prior to the malfunction. It sounds like it restored you to a time before the driver for that monitor was installed.

Acer LCD Monitor only displays "acer" logo

You are correct, it could be a power surge that has caused it.

Try this..
Unplug the monitor from the wall.
Remove all the video connections at the monitor end.
Wait 10 minutes then plug the monitor back into the wall (do not connect the video leads)

Turn it on and see if it goes past the ACER logo now. If so, replace the video cables and try the computer.
If not, then one of these will apply and a tech will be required..
  1. The internal bios has been corrupted.
  2. The power supply inside the monitor may have issues preventing the video board from starting correctly. This could be as simple as a few failing capacitors.
Number 2 is the most likely cause with an Acer monitor though. Any local tech will be able to correct it fairly cheaply, but phone around for quotes..they can vary a lot.

Monitor repeatedly flashes Acer logo and computer display in cycles

We had the same problem with the 17" we bought in Aug. Sent it back for repair. Acer sent it back without fixing the problem. Started doing it again in Nov. This time I called a supervisor and they sent me a new monitor. Well yesterday it started doing the same thing. You can fix it temp buy unplugging it and holding down the on-off switch for 30 seconds. Please let me know if you have a better fix.
