Question about Epson Stylus Pro 10000 InkJet Printer
I've had the same problem, and through some experimentation and reading in the service manual, I believe the actual cause is a failing CR motor, although I haven't yet replaced it. Try things that will reduce head speed and the speed at which it changes directions. For example, if you aren't using the entire width of the media, try adding a black line something similar to the print in the far margin to force the printhead to move farther. You can also try changing print modes. I've found that unidirectional printing is far more likely to have problems than bidirectional printing as well as the high speed 360x360 modes. Best luck is usually with 720x720 or 720x1440 in bidirectional mode, and if it fails, try changing the width of the print. You might also check that the printhead moves freely all the way across the printer. You could have a bad bearing. The printer detects a paper jam anytime the amperage goes too high on the CR motor, and it seems pretty sensitive.
