Help Washing machine just hums and no water is getting into the washer

Humming could be no water going in, check fill hose.Or get a bucket of water put into drum then start machine helping to Flush out.

The inlet screen could be plugged where hoses connect, or water is not turned on. Humming is the solenoid not working or trying to work. make sure water is getting too the machine and try repeated off and on cycles with dial. replace solenoid if needed.

change the water inlet valve located where the hot and cold hoses screw in to it

your washer hums but does not start. do you have the water turned on? mine did the same thing and i forgot to turn on the water, the hum sound was the pump

The humming sound i believe is the water valve open and calling for water but for some reason no water is coming to it from the house water supply..check that faucets are open and rubber fill hoses on back of washer arent pinched and restricting water flow into washer

The humming sound you can hear is probably the water inlet valve energising but not letting the water in.
Check that the water is on to the washer, to be certain it is remove the inlet hose, and see if there is water present, if there is, then the valve itself could be faulty.

to start I will never again buy another GE product for as long as I live. I am having the same problem w/my GE washing machine. I have to manually turn the dial to make it go thru its cycles. the problem is the 'timer' must be replaced. good luck trying to get their customer service dept to help you with anything. they are useless.
