Question about Gateway FPD2275W LCD Monitor
Ihave a 5 year old Gateway computer and monitor. I have receintly noticed a few horizontal lines at the top of my monitor. I have not dropped it nor has anything hit it. I am wonderin what might be causing these. They do not effect the picture.
Lines on screens are usually caused by damage to the ribbons on the
actual screen face itself (something only a few professional lcd repair
shops can repair).
Sometimes caused by a bump, other times from over-wetting when cleaning, or dampness/moisture issues
The inverter-power board does Not control picture, It just controls the backlight bulbs and powering the video board.
Picture is powered from the video display board.

Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
