8 inch delta band saw that cant keep the band in place in use

Hi there I have a 8 inch delta band saw that i got used as a gift last year when it works it works great.
the problem I have is, I adjusted band (saw) tension and cant get the blade (saw) to stay on the pulleys now... I have tried adjsuting tension, angle of pulleys etc. I can get it to stay on for about one cut but then the blade jumps off. I have tried my best to put the settings back totheer they were when I got it.
also when I got the saw before I adjusted the pulley angle slightly to center the band on the wheels the band seemed to stay on fine nothing really has changed since then in terms of damage to parts or wear. On the main idler puller is a rubber ring that covers the metal wheel to provide traction for the band this has soem wear but not excessive some cracks in the rubber etc any suggestions ??

The rubber bands on the metal wheels are called tires, and if they are cracked, they may very well be crowned and causing the problem with the band coming off.

To test, remove the back guide (as opposed to the side guides) on the top and bottom guide sets (above and below the table.). Put a blade on, and see if it will stay on. If it doesn't, replace the tires. If it does, reinstall the back guides and make sure they do not touch the back of the blade when the saw is running. There should by about 1/32" between the guide and the blade.

How much does a rockwell 14" band saw cost?

It has been discontinued by Delta. It would be hard to find replacement parts for this band saw. I think Rockwell 28-20C would cost $100-200.

I have 10 inch metal band saw wheels do I buy 9 inch tires so they go on tight

I have a 10" grizzly band saw and installed 10 inch tires on it. No problem with it's tightness. Most industry standard tires today are 6, 8, 10, 12 inches...so a 10 inch tire on a 10 inch metal band saw wheel should have no problem at all. The quality of the tires should be one of your top priorities. That's why I always go for a reputable supplier. Check it out: http://bandsawparts.com.

28-276 Delta bandsaw blade keeps coming off?

Unplug the machine, gain access to the two wheels. On the back of the machine you should have a tilt adjustment knob. Manually turn the wheels in the direction of the cut and at the same turn adjust the tilt knob on the back of the machine. This should solve the problem.

I need a manual for a delta 14 inch 28-207

Here's an exploded diagram of your bandsaw.
http://owwm.com/pubs/1141/2461.pdf
This exploded diagram should help with the parts list and how things lock together. Seems no-one readily has a more comprehensive manual available online. You might track one down behind an old workbench that hasn't moved in 50 years but it's unlikely to be digitised!

Size of Blade Guide Blocks for Delta BS100

I replaced mine a couple of years back with the cool blocks. Great Product. I have a 10" Delta and they worked great. You can measure the ones you have on the saw now. I can't remember if they are 3/8" or 1/2" blocks. Check out woodcraft.com and type cool blocks into the search field. They have all the different sizes and shapes available. I really think it was the 3/8" blocks that fit. I did call woodcraft to inquire if they would fit in my bandsaw and the customer service was great. They like to talk shop. If you have any questions please post.
