Question about Gateway M-6843 Notebook
This problem can be caused by mainly two different things. It is either the AC Adapter itself and has a short in it, or sometimes it is caused by the Power Jack inside the laptop. Are you familiar with how to read a voltmeter? I can walk you through testing your adapter. If it is either issue, I would recommend trying to fix through warranty if possible, because the power jack repair can be expensive. If you need to replace the AC adapter, I recommend a genuine adapter, as universal adapters and cheap knockoff brands will cause issues with your laptop and usually not last very long.
