THE CIRCUIT BOARD IS FOR THE 12V SIDE OF THINGS THAT OPERATE THE IGNITOR AND GAS SOLENOID VALVES. HAVE U MADE SURE THE CIRCUIT BREAKER AT THE CONVERTER BOX IS ON? HAVE U LOOKED AT THE BACK OF THE WATER HEATER AND MADE SURE THE SWITCH IS IN THE ON POSITION? IF EVERYTHING IS ON AND U KNOW THERE IS POWER GETTING TO THE WATER HEATER, TRY OHMING OUT THE ELEMENT WITH AN OHM METER. ELEMENT IS LOCATED UNDER THE BOX BEHIND THE WATER HEATER. MAKE SURE POWER IS TURNED OFF AND THE WIRES ARE DISCONECTED BEFORE USING OHN METER.

Code 73 on a noritz tankless propane water heater

73 code is a circuit board error. It typically occurs if you connect or disconnect anything in the heater with power on. Try disconnecting electricity for 20 seconds to reset the unit. If the problem continues, you may need to replace your circuit board.

I have an Atwood G6A-BE model )or possibly G6A-B8) hot water heater. When I throw the starter swith on from inside the RV nothing happens at all. No spark. Nothing. Their is a light next to the switch that...

First of all, regarding propane side not lighting. Try shutting switch off, and go outside and remove the connection(s) from the circuit board, and re-install them a few times to see if it's just a bad connection (corrosion) that will correct itself by removing and re-installing the connector(s). If they appear dirty, use an eraser on end of a pencil to clean the contacts on the circuit board, and perhaps some WD-40 or electrical cleaner on connector, and try it to see if that helps. Keep in mind that the propane part needs 12 volts DC (battery or converter) in order to work. The light at the switch tells me you did have it at one time anyway. Try shutting it off and retry, as well as check for any fuses that may have blown.
One the electric side, I'm going to guess it's a "hot rod" or similar. Obviously you need the circuit breaker on that powers that. (hydro) You should also find a thermostat, probably by looking at rear of tank from inside RV, that will probably have a red reset button in the middle of it. Be sure to shut breaker off before you go poking around that thermostat, so you don't get a shock, seeing how we have no idea exactly who or how it was installed. If you determine that the hydro is getting to the hot rod, but still no hot water, then the element, or rod itself has probably burned out. Personally I'm not a fan of those, but if it serves the purpose, that's up to you. Just be sure to pay attention to any plugs and wiring in the circuit, and watch for signs of them getting too hot, such as discolored connectors, or melting wires or even signs of overheating if it's just plugged in to a receptacle.

Hi my bosch tankles water heater lites up and the goes out any ideas what i should check. best wishes

Hello, Your Tankless water heater will briefly turn on when the propane is turned on and you switch it on but it only stays on when the shower handle is turned on to allow the flow of water. The water faucet must be on obviously. The unit will only stay on while the water is flowing out of the shower head.
If the unit doesn't turn on there is 3 things that will prevent it from operating correctly; 1. Batteries must have a charge /power. 2. The propane fuel must be on. 3. Water must be flowing from the shower head regardless of the spray pattern.
Good Luck!

I have a Atwood 10 gallon electric/ propane water heater on the Hornet travel trailer I purchased used. There are two switches on the wall, one is an on/off switch that lights up and the oither is just an...

The two switches control the water heater either in the gas or electric mode. The switch with the lights would be for the gas operation, and the switch without lights would be for the electric mode. Prior to operating either switch, make sure the water tank is full of water. Turn your hot water tap on, if water comes out, tank is full. Connect trailer to 110 Volt source, turn circuit breakers on, Place switch without lights to on position. If water does not heat in 45 minutes, Install new heat proble. The gas mode should be repaired by someone that is familiar with that system. Atwood can provide you with a local service center.

Try opening the pressure relief valve (carefully so you don't burn yourself) slightly, and see if water comes out and if it is hot. It sounds like you may have very little if any water in there. Check by-pass valves at back of water heater for proper positioning. Cold should go in the bottom, hot out the top. Make sure there is flow through any valves going into bottom, and any valve at the top.Any valves connected in between the hot and cold should be in the off position. If need be, to test if incoming cold water getting into tank at bottom fitting, shut off water, relieve pressure in system by opening taps until all pressure is gone. then close all taps. Now remove your drain plug, then turn water back on, and water should shoot out the drain plug hole with good pressure within a few seconds and flow steady while water on. If not you have a restriction such as valve in wrong position or faulty, so try moving valve to get better flow out drain plug. If flow out drain is good, then make sure valve at top fitting on back of tank (if any) is also open for good flow . Any other valves should be closed in between those 2 lines. Let me know what you find.

Red light on ignition switch not working

On gas, usually it may light momentarily when first igniting, but as long as it lights on propane, the light goes out. Only if there is a problem that cause it not to light, will it stay on.

Atwood GCH10A-4E won't heat in electric mode. 12v power to circuit board no 12v power to relay. Is new circuit board only solution?

CHECK THE FUSES AND CIRCUIT BREAKERS IN THE CONVERTER BOX. MAKE SURE THE 110V SWITCH BEHIND THE WATER HEATER IS TURNED ON. IF THERE IS POWER AND "ALL" THE 110V SWITCHES ARE ON, TIME TO OHM OUT THE HEATING ELEMENT, LOCATED UNDER THE BOX BEHIND THE WATER HEATER.
IN ORDER TO HAVE 12V AT THE CIRCUIT BOARD, 112V POWER HAS TO GO THRU THE RELAY. SOUNDS LIKE U HAVE A WIRING PROBLEM SOMWHERE, EITHER AT THE SWITCH OR AT THE WATER HEATER SOMEWHERE.

your thermostat is bad and needs to be changed but I am not sure if it is tied in with the circuit board or not, on the rinnai units it is and you would have to change the circuit board
