What fan, cpu fan? system fan? graphics card fan?

Either way clear out any dust which could help cool it which may decude the amount of time the fan is on or slow the fan down.

If it wasn't like it new, then its probably dust inside the fan and you wont be able to fix it as most fans will not come apart too easy.

Easier to get a replacement fan from ebay etc.

Hi. I have a HP Pavillion dv7 Laptop. I've had it for approx. 2 & 1/2 years. For the first year I really didn't use it at all. I was working too many hours and working in a call centre, the...

Hello,

The problem very likely may be dirt. Dust and dirt accumulate in the air passages and heat sinks in laptops often causing them to overheat. You say that the laptop was serviced by a technician recently.
He should have cleaned it's cooling system but he may not have. I have found that if the machine is not completely dismantled the dust and dirt blocking the free flow of air may not be visible.

Another possibility is that your cooling fans are waring out. These can be replaced. Also you can purchase high performance fans that are quieter, more efficient and last longed than the standard fans that laptops are supplied with.

Being as you have so much invested in this machine it makes sense to check to see if you have these issues.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

I suggest try to call the manufacturer because if happens that its causing plastic burnt or dent due to overheating that means the hardware of the machine is failing, also the automatic shutdown is caused by overheating. If your going to call the manufacturer they have special support for those kind of issue.

Ive got a 323ci bmw on a 2000 plate with 23000 overheatin

repl temp sensor. run 12v to motor, does it run? could be resistors, they're hidden all over the car, thanks to the ******* engineers that put this piece of **** together. or the fan blades could be blocked.

radiator clogged, did someone put stop-leak in it? Remove thermostat drill two 3/16" holes in it 180degress apart, install 12 degree cooler thermostat.

check to see if fan clutch is working properly.

Fan seems to vibrate periodically then return to quiet for some time. Does it require replacement? Unit is 12 months old. John Meersman

no,if is vibrating does it mean that is something wrong maybe is not fixed proper or the load of program is too much for it,check if is proper fix first.

My dell inspiron laptop runs very hot and is very noisy

The way i see it you have 2 solutions:

Either go to your retailer and get them to dust the laptop and clean it`s fans. (You didn`t specify if it`s still in warranty)

Or solution number 2 would be to buy a special support for laptops.. most have 2 or more fans incorporated so that u get more ventilation. Of course that will not solve the noise problem really..

You also didn't specify how long have u been using your laptop as... with age they of course degrade and there is really no solution for that.
