LG dishwasher detergent cup will not stay closed.

I do not know which machine you have , but it sounds like the plastic catch on the dispenser has worn down. You would need to replace the dispenser unit.

Solutions (4) Best Solution Hello, I worked on a problem like this a few days ago. Your problem is going to be a blockage in the inlet to the drum. To fix this problem find the inlet pipe normally located above the door behid a flap of rubber..push your fingers up there to see if you can feel a blockage..If not your going to have to remove the lid of the machine to access the pipe that leads from the detergent drawer to the tub. Look at the rear top of the machine..You will see three screws....remove them and push back and lift the top panel (lid) now you should be able to access the pipe. Pull the pipe off and clean it out, i suspect you will find a sock blocking the pipe :) If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck! Mike

you have a blockage in the fill hose, probably a bleach lid cap cardboard circle or detergent lid cardboard from the cap, or another foreign object, remove the object by removing the top of the machine, remove screws in back at top slide lid back remove the dispnser by pressing down on tab and pull it all the way out, remove single screw next to dispenser, see if you can remove the tube under the dispenser box attached to the tub, if not remove dispenser box and hose attached at bottom find blockage and re assemble, with a stroke of luck you may be able to remove the object by reaching in where the dispenser tray was.

The detergent door on the Jenair dishwasher opens but the detergent stays in the cup

Hello.

Two things come to mind:
1. Check the spray arms for pluggage, particularly at the tips. If the spray arms are plugged up, they can prevent the detergent from being dispensed. The easiest way that I know of to remove debris from the spray arms is to remove the arm and use a piece of wire (paper clip) to rake out the debris in the tips, and poke holes of the plugged nozzles, then wash the arms out over the sink.
2. Get the water in the sink as hot as possible just before starting the washer. The hotter water will help dispense the soap more readily, and help to clean the dishes better.

Hello What does the error code A13 represent. The soap dispenser seems Ok. Could it be related to something else. The machine starts up Ok, but about 6 seconds into a cycle A13 flashes up and the...

As you correctly pointed out A13 error is linked to the failure of the detergent dispenser lid operation.

If the lid is not opening at the correct time in the wash cycle, then the detergent will not be getting dispensed.

Either the controller circuit that operates the lid is faulty or the lid solenoid is faulty.

You can check the parts at this site.

Frigidaire front load washer (GLTF1040ASO) is leaking water by the detergent dispenser area. Any suggestions on what this could be?

This is usually caused by solidified detergent blocking the water ways in the detergent dispenser.

Check the inside of the dispenser to make sure the outlet holes are not blocked.

Most dispensers can be removed for cleaning check your appliance instructions for details.

Front loader LG washer drawer for detergent is stuck won't open

Remove the top of the washer by removing the 2 retaining screws (phillips head) from the back of the unit & sliding the washer top back about 2" & pulling up. You will see a white detergent dispenser box with several hoses coming off the back in the left front of the unit (this box contains the detergent drawer). The lid to this box is held on by 8 pressure snap clips. You only need to release the 4 snap clips (3 large, 1 small at the rear) on the right side of the box (nearest the washer drum). Pull up on the right side of the lid while pulling out on the detergent drawer. It should come out normally. Do not reassemble until you read below, then reverse the steps to put the washer back together.

The problem will be the "softener" lid (blue). It will not be sitting down in the drawer assembly & will catch on the lid of the white detergent dispenser box. Simply remove the blue lid to avoid future jambs. It only serves to identify the fabric softener recepticle & it keeps fabric softener from splashing around when water enters the system. You may need to remove the entire detergent drawer periodically to clean (push down on the blue thumb indent inside the drawer to release it from the housing).

Hope this keeps you from drilling through the lid & ruining a $23 part, like I did.

GE Dishwasher

Hi tucker19,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your question is: You just purchased a GE Dishwasher from Home Depot...Its a QuietPower3...and after you run it, there is detergent build up on the detergent dispenser lid and residue on dishes...HEAVY RESIDUE...Why????

Are you useing a dry soap? If so, try a liquid. Make sure it says DISHWASHER soap on it. Also, use half as much liquid as the dry. Some new d/w's can be tempermental that way. If it persists then use the warranty.
