Hopefully there is a wiring diagram glued to one of the panels to verify but on the transformer you will have 2, 110 volt wires. One is the power coming in (usually black wire) and the other is a common (white wire) and will be connected to other common leads. On the low voltage side of the transformer one wire will go to the thermostat then from the thermostat to the gas valve. The other side will connect to the gas valve. When the thermostat calls for heat it completes the circuit from transformer to gas valve back to transformer.

I have a 25,000 BTU hanging furnace, will this heat a 900sq foot garage that has been insulated.

Here in Vermont we design heating systems to perform at -10 to -20 degrees. Depending upon how tight the doors and windows are, it may if your temperatures don't drop below 20 degrees. It may take a while to heat up and I would not expect any temperature over 62 degrees inside the garage. Maybe a 50,000 Btu heater? Remember the output may be 20% less than the rated input of the heater.

DAYTON HEATER 60,OOO BTU

Hi, I do not no the age of this unit, but when a furnace is installed, it is set up for Nat. gas., and they most always leave you a small package taped to or near the gas valve that has the spring and L.P. orfice in it, in case it is needed. See if you can find it first. If not, get all of the numbers from the main gas valve (mgv) and from the unit heating plate attached, b.t.u.If you can't find it, at the top of the main valve, you will see a brass colored screw slot.May be aluminum. Turn off gas and power. Remove the threaded screw cap and remove all small parts, a spring, a plastic or maybe aluminum round orfice, about 3 pieces. Keep them in the order you remove them.Replace with the L P Parts if you have them. If not, you will need to take the parts and all numbers you can get from valve and unit to a appliance parts store to purchase. You shouldn't have to adjust the gas pressure as now days they are the same for nat. and L P.About 3.4" of water colume. Thats a different name for pressure. Very easy for you to do. Good Luck, Shastalaker7

I have Dayton space heater 3E 229, pilot wont stay on,I have install new gas operating valve and checked transformer ( 30V) . Pilot lights up but wont stay on even if I hold button down for 2-3 min. please...

The thermocouple is likely defective...(Copper wire heated by the pilot) or the pilot itself is too small or dirty....the pilot must be BLUE , not yellow like a candle...and it must envelop the top portion of the thermocouple....you could also have an auxiliary limit or ECO wired in series with the thermocouple circuit that could be open.....also make sure the thermocouple is inserted all the way and is in the pilot flame as mentioned above

Furnace flame goes low fan stays on

if the gas pressure is good on inlet and outlet of valve u might wanna chk the burner trays and manifold for flakes, dirt, spider webs ect... once u kno the passages are clear from obstruction you can focus on the mechanical. (sounds like gas valve may be getting weak and not able to open fully)
