Whining also The machine whines, slows down, picks up, slows down. Flyhwheel seems stiff. How would you check flywheel for thread caught? Should it go to a repair shop rather thatn keep sewing with this whinin noise.

Why magnolia not picking up bobbin thread

Despite what the instruction book tells you, do not use the auto downup button to pick up the bobbin thread. Instead pull the wheel toward you and do it manually. Many times the bobbin thread gets caught and the machine halts if that auto down button is used.

Top thread is making a small loop around the bottom thread which seems tight

It sounds like your top thread is not properly placed in the tension unit. Try retreading. If this doesn't solve the problem, check the tension unit for bits of broken thread which may have gotten caught in your tension. Use a tooth pick to remove any excess lint and debris which may be caught between the tension discs.

Machine stopped sewing even though it sounds like its running

I would suggest taking the machine to be checked to see if the machine has a broken part or jumped time.

Make sure no thread is caught in shuttle, or around bobbin case, etc. Check "plate teeth" also. Manually turn handle/wheel to engage and slow press pedal.

Is there a burning smell of rubber? Bad motor. Check warranty.

My problem is between the needle and the bobbin. The tread continues to get caught just below the needle- inside of the machine. The bobbin seems to be lifting up and thread gets caught beneath the needle

Hi. So is this a horizontal hook? Where is the thread getting caught beneath the needle? Maybe on the hook? Check your upper threading to make sure the thread passes through the thread take-up lever. If thread is not through the lever, it wont get pulled up , which can lead to multiple thread loops getting caught on the hook, not pulling off after the rotation.

Machine is Whining

Any unusual sounds should be checked out by your dealer to prevent serious damage. However, first check the flywheel, on the top right side of the machine, for any thread that were caught between the flywheel and casing, causing the motor to work harder. If not, take it to your dealer.
