Question about Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console

1 Answer

5 in 1 thunder power pack

Hi
I bought one of these power packs to extend the use time while flying on holiday ...
question - should the power pack charge the PSP ?
The charge meter does not flash with the extra pack and only registers one line on the battery. When I plug the mains charger into the power pack the charge goes through it to the psp and it shows charging ?
So all the connections must be right ?
Any ideas ?

    I NEED A REPLACEMENT TIMER (PB912M10).

1.remove timer from power pack. this includes all wiring to timer and switch.
    2. buy a timer at Home depot.
    3. plug power pack into timer,
    4. reattach low voltage output wires to garden lighting system or whatever you use the low voltage for.

this is the second time I had to do this remedy. the timer that comes with the power pack really stinks!

FS240BX battery how Long should it take to charge.

Hi .Charge the battery initially for 9 hours.

After the initial charge, under normal usage, your power pack should be fully charged in 3 to 6 hours. If the power pack is run-down completely, it may take up to 6 hours to become fully charged.

The red light is just a power indicator. The light will not go out, change color, or blink when the charging has been completed.

To prolong power pack life, avoid leaving the power pack on charge for extended periods of time (over 30 days without use). Although overcharging is not a safety concern, it can significantly reduce overall power pack life.

The power pack will reach optimum performance after being cycled 5 times during normal usage.

There is no need to run the batteries down completely before recharging. Normal usage is the best method of discharging and recharging the batteries
Hope this was of some help to you.

Clock runs, but time quit. What is "plastic Ho"?

You posted under Malibu Power Pack.
If you have different timer, then instructions below will not fit your question.

    1) If I understand correctly, you can manually turn malibu low-voltage lights on-off but timer is not working.

    2) 'Harry' wrote fixya with a work-around. He bought cheap plug-in timer. Set power pack to override and then plugged power pack into cheap timer.

    3) Harry also said he has 5 year warranty and was negotiating with malibulights.com for refund.
No word how that came out.

    4) Other than Harry's solution, I have not been able to find repairs and parts for power packs.
Hours of searching Malibu, Intermatic, ebay etc turned up a few folks who took their power pack apart, but nobody reported they fixed a power pack once it goes bad.

    5) The best I found are tips for next power pack that might save money:
The reason I add these tips now, before your power pack needs replacement is some fella wrote-in.
He bought 500 Watt power pack to replace 300 Watt > thinking bigger was better.
Power pack burned out. Here's why:
    a) Match wattage of bulbs with wattage of power pack
    -15 each X 20 watt bulbs = 300 watts, so install 300Watt power pack
    b) Installing a 500W power pack on 300W of bulbs will burn out bulbs and power pack.
    c) Replace bulbs as soon as they burn out or other bulbs will burn out and power pack will burn out.
    d) When working on bulbs, unplug power pack or it may burn out.

    6) Add a comment for more free help.
Also take advantage of fixya phone service.
For a price, expert speaks with you over phone while you work on timer or any do-it-yourself project.
Fixya is always less expensive than a service call.

How to troulbe shoot my 300-Watt Power Pack/Timer. it doesnt turn on but it does turn off on time. had this product for 4 years and just now started having problems with the timer.

'Harry' wrote to me yesterday with handy malibu information.
    1) Power packs come with 5 year limited warranty.
He is contacting Malibulights.com for a refund of some type.
Hope he writes back and says how that comes out.
    2) He was having problem and plugged power pack into wall timer, then set timer.
Heh heh, pretty clever: Malibu transformer works, but timer doesn't, so plug power pack into a wall timer!!

That being said, I had same problem with my power pack.
I used blower to remove dirt and sprayed wd-40 and tried to take it apart.
My power pack was getting electricity.
Connections were good where lights tie into wire.
    My lights never turned off.

    Power pack doesn't come apart.
I turned it upside down thinking water got into timer.
I took it inside and let it warm up.
It still wouldn't work so bought another one.
Then I searched Intermatic and Malibulights.com for answer, but they have no troubleshooting or repair other than check electricity and check bulbs.
Conclusion: when power pack doesn't work, it is broken.
Unless you buy a separate timer and plug power pack into that timer as Harry suggests.

After researching power packs at Intermatic, Malubulights.com, ebay etc, the best I found were tips for next power pack that might save money:

My 600 watt 12 volt transformer timer for out door lighting does not keep time properly. HOw do I get and install a new timer?

    1) Amazon sells 600Watt power pack:
    http://www.amazon.com/Malibu-8100-9600-01-Voltage-Power-Transformer/sim/B002ZRPM4A/2

    2) I bought new 300Watt Malibu power pack at Home Depot about 2 months ago.
    Near the lighting section.
My new power pack has electronic time clock, so no more 'slow clock.'
I think Home Depot had 600Watt.
    Lowes carries different brand.

    3) Manuals for power packs at Malibu lights.com
    http://www.malibulights.com/customer_service/owners_manuals.aspx

    4) Tips for buying and taking care of power pack:
-Match up wattage of bulbs with wattage of power pack
    -15 each X 20 watt bulbs = 300 watts, so install 300Watt power pack
-Installing a 500W power pack on 300W of bulbs will burn out bulbs and power pack.
-Replace bulbs as soon as they burn out or other bulbs will burn out and power pack will burn out.
-When working on bulbs, unplug power pack or it may burn out.
    http://www.malibulights.com/guides_support/low_voltage_planning_guide/select_your_power_pack

    5) How to install power pack.
Before unplugging old power pack, check which bulbs are not working.
    Replace bulbs using phillips screwdriver.
    Unplug power pack.
Notice how wires are connected to power pack, write down terminal connections.
Some power packs have three terminals ... extra terminal is for additional photoelectric eye.
Use pliers or screwdriver to disconnect wires.
New power pack has has same terminals.
    Plug in power pack.
Read instruction manual before connecting wires.
Save instruction manual because a few years that manual won't be around as products change.

SIMS 2 UNIVERSITY INSTALLED BUT NOT LOADING UP, NOTICED PEOPLE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS. MY OTHER SIMS 2 GAMES ARE PC DVD ROM SIMS TWO UNIVERSITY I BOUGHT IS A PC CD ROM IS THAT THE PROBLEM WHY IT WONT...

I think university is the first or second expansion pack. I know there are issues if the expansions are not installed in order of their release. if you have say, seasons or freetime and then install university, it may not run correctly. You have to uninstall the packs or the game and re-install them in correct order. Yes, it's a big pain but I had to do it twice.
Install the SIMS2, or double deluxe whatever you have then follow this order with exception of say nightlife if you have have double deluxe because it comes with the original game.

The Sims 2" Expansion Pack Order
    • "The Sims 2 University"
    • "The Sims 2 Nightlife" included in double deluxe
    • "The Sims 2 Holiday Party Pack" (A Stuff Pack)
    • "The Sims 2 Open for Business"
    • "The Sims 2 Family Fun" (A Stuff Pack)
    • "The Sims 2 Glamour Life" (A Stuff Pack)
    • "The Sims 2 Pets"
    • "The Sims 2 Happy Holiday" (A Stuff Pack)
    • "The Sims 2 Seasons"
    • "The Sims 2 Celebration" (A Stuff Pack) also in double deluxe
    • "The Sims 2 H&M" (A Stuff Pack)
    • "The Sims 2 Bon Voyage"
    • "The Sims 2 Teen Style" (A Stuff Pack)
    • "The Sims 2 Free Time"
    • "The Sims 2 Kitchen and Bath Interior Design" (A Stuff Pack)
    • "The SIms 2 Ikea Home" (A Stuff Pack)
    • "The Sims 2 Apartment Life"
    • "The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden" (A Stuff Pack)

My game, The Sims 2 Double Deluxe has what you call a bug in it that did not appear until one day when I was playing because we had all the expansion packs and the pets disappeared from the game and I went...

After installing Double Deluxe install the expansions you have in this order...
The Sims 2" Expansion Pack Order
    • "The Sims 2 University"
    • "The Sims 2 Holiday Party Pack" (A Stuff Pack)
    • "The Sims 2 Open for Business"
    • "The Sims 2 Family Fun" (A Stuff Pack)
    • "The Sims 2 Glamour Life" (A Stuff Pack)
    • "The Sims 2 Pets"
    • "The Sims 2 Happy Holiday" (A Stuff Pack)
    • "The Sims 2 Seasons"
    • "The Sims 2 H&M" (A Stuff Pack)
    • "The Sims 2 Bon Voyage"
    • "The Sims 2 Teen Style" (A Stuff Pack)
    • "The Sims 2 Free Time"
    • "The Sims 2 Kitchen and Bath Interior Design" (A Stuff Pack)
    • "The SIms 2 Ikea Home" (A Stuff Pack)
    • "The Sims 2 Apartment Life"
    • "The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden" (A Stuff Pack)
your problem may be a graphics card issue. Did it work with the expansion packs or start problems when you installed the expansions?

maybe this link will be helpful if the above does not work.

    Hurricane 550 battery problem

    Hi All,
    Thanks for your reply.

Finally, I've solved the problem. The battery that I've got previously produced 42 volts each and I connected two in series configuration. So the voltage add up together become 84 V for ESC.
That's why I can only fly for twice and it didn't last for long. The batteries were bubble up and really hot, basically, I busty it. Besides, the ESC is cooked.

So, I bought two brand new battery packs ( 3C 11.1V 3300mAh) and an ESC. The ESC has built in switching mode. One of the socket from ESC is connected to the switch with black and red wires were wrong way around. After I've swap it everything works. By using this way, there is no needed the extra 9V batter pack for receiver.

    Your Sincerely,
    Joe
