I had a similar problem but it was only one dark line on the right side of each page. I just changed the drum while keeping the same toner and the problem is gone.

I have a brother MFC 9840cdf I would like to print the back side of post cards that I already have... how can I do this?

If your printer have a Document Automatic Feeder on the top and have a duplex printing, then you can print on both side of the printer.

If not, try to do it manual by copying the front side and then reinsert the copy again to the paper tray facing down with the letter head in outward position.

Brother mfc-8480dn no paper error I have a new brother laser printer and it is telling me there is "No Paper" but the paper tray has paper. I have tried removing the paper and reloading the tray...

Open the file you are trying to print, go to "file", "page setup", "Paper" and choose "Default tray" under paper source. It may give you an error message that the margins are outside of the paper. Click on "Fix this", then you can print. I had the same problem.

Why do my images rub off the copy easily? I have a brother mfc-8860dn and I have the same problem. I notice that on bond paper (envelopes and letters I mail out) when they come back all the toner is...

This machine truly isn't designed for printing very high volumes of heavier bonds/envelopes. I think what you will notice is if you only print a few sheets at a time that the toner will be better fused than if you print many sheets.( you can check /test yourslef) The heavier bonds will quickly and dramatically reduce the temperature of the fuser and it can't recover on long runs of heavy paper.
Low temperature= poor fusing

Poor print quality from Brother MFC-8860DN

Replace the drum. The drum is failing.
When you replace the drum open the front door of the machine where thr drum and toner is.
Hit the clear/back button. Press 1
That resets the drum count after you replaced the unit.

NO paper light

Something worth considering: Check that there is enough slack in the paper tray to allow the gears at the front to lift the paper to the pickup wheel. I've found that on my firm's 8860DN, the paper tray being set too "tight" can cause too much friction, preventing it from moving. If you can raise/lower it by hand (using the gears on the side of the tray), you should be fine.
