Usually most car radios need to be in "STANDBY MODE". Make sure your radio is not on(playing or listening music) and if you have a menu button, make sure you hold down at least 3 to 4 seconds. Hopefully this helps.

For most older Pioneer single CD players, you can set the clock using the following steps:
  1. Press and hold the SOURCE button until the unit shuts off.
  2. Press and hold SOURCE again until the clock appears.
*With some models you will press and hold the FUNCTION or AUDIO button instead of the SOURCE button.
  3. Press the left or right arrow to select the segment of time you wish to adjust.
  4. Press the up or down arrows to increase or decrease the numbers in the blinking segment.
  5. Once the clock is set correctly, press the SOURCE button to exit.
If you continue to have problems, contact our Product Support at 1-800-421-1404.

First push the source button until the stereo is off. Then hold the Program Function(PRG F) key(upper right corner of CD Player) down for ~2 seconds. This will take you to the Initial settings mode keep pressing the PRG F key until you get to the time setting mode. Then select the hour or minute with the left/right arrows located on the right side of the player and the up/down arrows will change the setting.

Stuck in demo mode

When you are in STANDBY mode hold the menu button for a few seconds and a special menu should pop up. In this menu you should be able to set the clock, turn off or on the beep, and take your unit out of demo mode. Good luck.
