Question about PfaFF Sewing Machines

1 Answer

Pfaff210 sewing machine foot pedal

I have a Pfaff 210 sewing machine which was bought in Italy in 1977 &(obviously!)runs on 220v. I moved to the US in 1993 & had a special 220 line run in so I could continue using the machine. 2 months ago, the foot pedal burnt out. I know I cannot replace it in the US, because I suspect the 220 current would burn right thru the 110 US wiring. Can a replacement foot pedal be had????

My pfaff 1222e is running slow

1. Remove any stuck material from the feed dog, bobbin area including the hook (pointed object under bobbin). Lubricate as you go.
2. Remove top and end of sewing machine to look at the motor and belt. Place pressure on the foot pedal. Still slow?
3. With bolt attached to motor release the pressure on the belt. Now, place pressure on the foot pedal. Did you notice any increase in speed?
4. Apply pressure on the foot pedal and simultaneously adjust the motor. Adjusting means tightening of the belt and making it move in a straight line. (If it doesn't move straight it puts pressure on the motor so it will move slow.) When you have adjusted the motor to the right position the motor will be at it's highest speed.
5. If the pressure foot is the problem it will require a pro to take care of it.

I just bought a Pfaff 1222 from a charity shop. When I plug it in, it starts to move by itself. Is this a feature that I can switch off or it power being sent from the foot pedal?

as far as i know no sewing machine should move on its own it should be run by the pedal i would look in my phone book & look for a repair shop & ask if they could look at it for you safety first you wouldn't want a child to get ahold of it & get hurt your self either

The stopmatic lever to lift the sewing foot just snapped off on my pfaff 1222e- can it be fixed?

Good question. I would first call your Pfaff dealer to see if the part is readily available or if it can be ordered.

I have a Kenmore sewing machine Model 158, 1792280. The foot pedal is not working well; I was sewing normally and when I finished, I removed my foot from the foot pedal but the machine continue sewing. I...

Buy a new foot pedal for it, probably one of the electrical components inside the foot has failed.

There are Kenmore footcontrols for sale on www.sewingpartsonline.com. You could email them to check its right for your model if it isn't listed.

Obviously I'm assuming that you are in USA with 110 Voltage and that is what your machine is. If not and your country is 220V, you would need to source it from a reseller in your own country or another with the same voltage.
