This set used an LED for the illumination source IIRC... a total loss of one color means the loss of one of the three LED's that drive the DMD module. In your case--the RED LED module --or it's driver--has failed. There is NO color wheel to deal with in this set.
Your set does not uses a color wheel--it had LED illumination. So--there is only a couple of fans that could make this noise..OTHER than a possible failing LED power supply--capacitors on the module do fail. This is on the right side of the set--facing outwards at the bottom
Try to Google for that but Samsung has not printed paper ones for years and only authorized service centers have access to them via their internet site.
Don't forget that if you are using component input cables it could be your Red input line either faulty cable or not plugged in all the way on either end.
He is talking about the HLT6187SAX/XAA which is an LED model not the HL-T6187S model which has a lamp unless he gave the wrong model number in the original post.
