But ...in general its a driver problem or you didnt installed the whole software to make it automatically
if it does not ask for driver plug it in ...and after the sound just take a look into My computer ..there are 80% chances to find the the card inside the camera as a removable device ...just open and copy paste or whatever .....
another way is just to take out the sd card ..and use a card reader to take the photos from it
if you do not have the driver for it and still want to use the data cable ...let me know to look for one ...
but <,,if you bought it new ...Im sure they provide the cd with a driver ..a manager ..and the user guide on a disc...I have a lumix too ...and I know what Im talking about
another way is to use ACDsee photo manager ...the 9 edition has an excelent import from device feature
