Question about Kodak ESP 5 Printer
This is a fairly common problem. How old is the printer? I would try and contact kodak as most likely they will send you replacement print head at no charge. After you do get a new printhead try and use the printer at least once a week. That is assuming it isn't a more serious problem but I would try that first you can contact kodak at 1800 421 6699

Well you need to clean the print head according to the instructions as follows -
Debris may occasionally collect on the print head and scratch the print surface. To clean the print head, you need:
-Two soft, lint-free cloths.
-Distilled water and/or isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol.
Dampen a cloth with the distilled water. The cloth should be damp, not dripping.
Wipe the print head Heater Line and Ribbon Guide Bar several times. Always wipe in the same direction to prevent smearing the debris. Use a different portion of the cloth each time.
If debris is still visible, use your fingernail to gently remove it. Do not use a metal object to remove the debris.
Dampen a clean section of the same cloth with water and wipe the print head.
Use the other cloth to remove any excess moisture from the print head:
Lightly dampen the cloth with isopropyl alcohol and wipe the print head as described above.
Wipe the print head several times with the dry cloth.

open the picture you want to print
go to :
another windows will pop up and under general you will see different print size and you can chose there the different paper size and print size.

you need to use the head cleaning tool in the printer properties, youll
need to keep running it untill it runs clear and it uses alot of your
ink while it does it.
youll find the cleaning option if you go to your
start/settings/printers and faxes, right click on your printer and go to printer preferences then maintinence

Kindly go to www.kodak.com/go/printheadsupport and see how to install the printhead properly. Make sure that it snaps in to place properly. If issue persists,call kodak @ 1800 421 6699 and they will replace the printhead for you free of cost.Printhead is the part which holds the cartridges and has 4000 nozzles which sucks ink from cartridges.It Might have gone bad.

• To resolve this issue remove the cartridges and then the printhead (Upon removing the cartridges look into the slot where the black cartridge fitted into. On the vertical wall at the back you will see two small contact points. Place your finger above those points on the black plastic and run your finger towards the top of the printhead. You will feel a little button and by pressing it , it will release the printhead.)
• Remove power
• Please now check for any objects or paper that might be obstructing the movement of the printer carriage - if any are found please remove them
• Wait 5-7 minutes
• Reinsert power
• Reinsert printhead (When inserting the Printhead please ensure that you hear it click into place)
• Then re-insert cartridges, black first then colour.Please also ensure that you hear them clip into place
