Why blinking lights, won't wash, drains water out?

Hello. You didn't provide any brand/model number but the flashing lights are most likely digital error codes flashing in a pattern. For instance, there could be the "clean" light flashing groups of 2 blinks and then 7 blinks or the "sensing" light flashing a certain number of times and then the "rinse" light flashing another number...these error codes will tell you where the problem lies. As a built-in safety feature, the unit will try to wash the dishes but when something fails internally, the program will stop, and then drain out the water, then flash the error code of the part that failed--for example, if the water temp was improper for a certain length of time, a motor pump failure, heater failure, water level wrong--there are many codes. Hope I shed some light on the problem!

Flashig lights, ticking sound, unfinished cycle

It sounds like it may be a heater problem or motor start problem. If you will post the complete model number from the decal, I may be able to look up something on it.
You should be able to get warranty service even without the proof of purchase as long as the manufacturing date proves it is within the warranty period. The date code is in the serial number.
If you will post it also I can look it up and tell you when it was built.

Some lights are flushing and the dishwasher does

If the clean light is flashing it is an indication of the water not heating up. I have attached a link to a sheet explaining what might be causing it and how to reset the control so you can use the dishwasher again.

Clean light flashing

If other lights than the clean light are flashing that is an indication there is a short circuit in the keypad control and that part would need replaced. Let me know if you need details on replacing that. If so I would need the complete model number from the tag on the dishwasher just inside the door.

Look at your manual, usually available on net for reading or downloading. Blink lights are often used to code out a problem with various combinations and repetition rates to indicate trouble code number for look-up in manual.

Lights flashing on clean. Program does not take.

you can open the lowe racess panel of d/w and you find a techsheet/ trouble shooter, in ther they will explain how to reset a clean light blinkin 7 times.. you can try pushing the "sani-rinse"---"heated dry"--- "sani-rinse" --- "heated dry"... toggling these buttons will triggor a test mode, youl know your in it for all the lights will light, close the door and wait 30 secs or so, the reopen door and cancel cycle, after it runs for 2min it will be ready fro you to start using again.. of the clean light issue returns, id recommned calling for service

Two Green Lights Flash Mid Cycle.

It's possible that there's a fault in the drying heater coil, but I couldn't tell you for sure without looking up your machine. If you could locate the model number tag on your machine and write down the exact model number and serial number, then I could likely give you a more informative answer. ;)

"3 second" light flashing

Pard, does your serial number end with either WS or WU? If so, Maytag had a issue with the main board, triac shorting and possibley damaging the motor windings. If your serial numbers fall under this, you are probably covered under the service flash. Im not really sure what you mean by the 3 second button flashing. Check the numbers first and post back. Whirlpool from ikea DWF415

hazman, depending on your serial number, this model has a bunch of service issues. Everything from the motor rework to the heating element. Sounds like your issue has to do with the heating element. If the dishwasher does not detect a 4 degrees temp. rise in the water in will go into this fault. They have redesigned the board to bypass this fault in later models. Since I don't have a serial number I can't tell if you have one of the affected models, but I assume so. I would call Whirlpool and inquire about any service flashes they have on this dishwasher, you may be covered. Otherwise you would have to do some tests to determine the cause, starting with the heating element. I believe you can clear the fault by pressing these keys in this order: high temp-air dry-high temp-air dry. four key presses...this should put it in the automatic test mode. Let it do it's thing and the fault should clear. For more info on your dishwasher there should be a tech sheet behind the bottom toe back.
