Question about Miele S246i Bagged Canister Vacuum

It seems like the hose might be clogged. How do I get possible blockage out? The hose is so long - too long for a wire hanger to reach all the way through.

Do you know why my kenmore vacuum is not picking the dirt up?

there are a couple things that can cause this -- first is a dirty/clogged filter,, remove the filter and tap it out and brush it out with a stiff brush ( a air compressor works best to blow out the filter ) ( but there are some filters out there that are not made of paper and are able to be washed in the dishwasher and dried out and re-used ).
second thing to cause a loss of suction is a blockage in the suction hose -- this blockage is almost always in the hose where it bends slightly down to the floor unit,, remove the floor plate and use a wire coat hanger to fish out the blockage. while you have the plate off make sure you check the belt for wear and tear.

sounds like there is blockage in the suction hose -- lay the machine down and remove the lower floor plate and clean out the hose area where it bends down to the floor unit ( use a wire coat hanger to fish out the blockage ). also check the main hose for any obstructions.

I have suction through the hose but not when using in the upright position. The problem started once I removed the filter to clean it.

there is a chance that the hose between the ground pick-up and the suction hose is clogged,, this happens when the filter is blocked and all the dirt and stuff only makes it part way up the hose and then settles at the bottom. run a wire coat hanger down the line to break up the blockage.

Paper from shredder has clogged the vacummn but I can't seem to find the area of the clog. Any suggestions? Thank you Jan

Be sure to check the hole next to the roter that might be the spot.also you can run a wire though the hose ( like a clothing hanger) do not push too hard or you will poke a hole in the hose. hope this works for ya.

My Dyson DC20 motorhead vacuum has a blocked hose - how can I unclog this? I think there is a sock caught up by the handle. The hose has electrical wires running through it so I cannot cut the hose.

Usually a plugged hose can be cleared using a broom handle, if you can force the blockage through, if not as previously suggested a coat hanger attached to the broom handle (duck tape will do) straighten out hanger so it can be used like a cork screw to screw into the blockage and pull it out, socks, underwear and pantyhose are the usual suspects!

How can i unclog a Lux 6000 vavuum

The Lux 6000 has a bad record of getting clogged. When it is clogged it will make a high pitch sound . First thing to do is turn the machine on and take the hose out of the top of the vacuum. If the noise changes, the hose is the part that is clogged. Take the hose out and use a broom handle to push the blockage out the other end. You can unscrew the flexable hose from the metal part to make it easier.
If the noise dosen't change when you take the hose out UNPLUG the cord and stand the vacuum up on the handle. You will need to do this against a counter. The black duct hose that is between the main body and the part that has the brush will pull out from the bottom part. You can see into the bottom part and into the duct hose. Use some needle nose pliers to pull the trash out. If the hose is blocked, unscrew it by turning it clockwise. If the blockage is up into the main body, use a coat hanger to try to clear the blockage. You can also insert the hanger into the top where the hose wand goes.
If all fails, take it to your Elux. dealer.
It's a lot easier to do than tell how.

No vacuum suction

Generic problem for all Vacuums
No vacuum suction
No vacuum suction

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
I am not sure what type of vacuum you have but it sounds to me that if you have a vacuum with a hose (called a powerteam, or canister with a powerhead) the vacuum hose could be clogged , the filter could be dirty, or the bag is too full – run a marble or steel ball thru the hose to see if there is any blockage, by doing that you can tell where the clog is, if there is use the wire coat hanger – straighten it out and bend the end of the hanger upwards to create a little hook and by doing that you can remove the clog if the ball does not go thru the hose all the way, please be careful if you have a vinyl hose, you could poke a hole in the hose and then you would need a hose sleeve over that spot to stop it from leaking, if it is an upright the same rules would apply to the hose, bag and filter or dirt cup filter .

No suction

If you have low suction at the end of the hose, then you either have a clog in the hose or a clogged filter. Take the hose off and drop something in it to see if it comes out the other end. If you have suction at the end of the hose, then the dirt inlet by the brush roll is clogged.
