It is called the suction intake- the pump sucks the water in through the suction intake. It serves as a hair and particle trap (safety device). Some suction intakes can be unscrewed counter-clockwise, others have a round cover that can be popped off with a flathead screwdriver (the cover conceals a philips head screw).

there is a round cover at bottom front that will come off with a quarter turn to left or anticlockwise. inside you will see a metal clip with a wire attached to it. pull the wire and your door will unlatch the magnetic lock. Your door most likely is in alarm from water remaining in the tub. There is a drain plug in the same hole and behind it is a drain fluff or filter that is most likely plugged. Clean this out well replace the plug and fluff/filter. When reinstalling plug make sure all sand and debris are out of the threads and apply light oil before screwing the plug back in. If you don't do this you run the risk of breaking the cap handle which results in having to buy the whole pump unit to get a new cap.

How does water actually get into the tub of a GE Model GSD2200G00WW dishwasher and to clean the overflow area how do you get it out I have cover off, down to rubber, got some stuff out, ? filter

First--Water enters the dishwasher through the water inlet valve which is the plastic electric valve that the house plumbing attaches to. On GE's its usually under the left front corner once you remove the small access panel. Power is applied by the the timer during the fill cycle. Second-- there is no other filter down in the area you are trying to clean. To remove that rubber boot/sump area you would need to un-install the dishwasher and remove the motor pump assembly from underneath. Here are a couple of things to check for poor cleaning. 1---internal water level---should be about 1/2 inch at door front edge. If not, that inlet valve may be partially blocked and need replaced. 2---water temp needs to be at least 120 minimum. If not hot enough it will not dissolve soap. 3--- look closely at all the little holes in the spray arms. Pay close attention to the end holes that are used to spray out water like a jet engine and spin the arms. Any blocked holes need to be cleaned with something like a toothpick. 4--- check dishwasher at cycle end. If tub has excessive amount of water left inside you may have a blocked drain hose from dishwasher to house drain system. Remove and clean. A small amount of water in sump area is normal but none u near door.

Whirlpool duet ghw9400pwo sometimes stays on rinse, sometimes shows sud , sometimes f2 code. My repairman cleaned filter by pump but he feels its the control board

Well, before you go investing in a new control panel that probably won't fix your F02 (Slow Drain)/SUD problem, or investing in a new machine that you may not need, I would remove the line that connects the tub basin to the pump filter. Make sure its clear (and it probably is if your filter is clear). It attaches to the tub basin via a hose clamp that is easily removed (though not so easily re-installed, speaking as a woman with fairly short arms and little hand strength). Once its removed, stick your hand up into the drum basin. I would suspect that you'll pull out a ton (okay, well maybe just a few cups) of yuck that is causing your F02 (Slow Drain)/SUD issue. Once you clean it all out, put it all back together and give it a test run.

How do I get change out of the washer? It went

I think you are talking about the three tub baffles that are attached to the inner tub. You can remove the baffles, usually one or two screws hold these into the tub. If it only has one screw then the opposite end is clipped into the tub. Most coins however get flushed down into the drain pump filter. We call this a coin catcher as that is what it is designed to do. Remove the front bottom panel, 3 to 4 screws on the bottom. Put a towel down under the pump to catch about a half gallon of water. There is a large round plastic screw that you unscrew from the pump assembly. The screw is three to 4 inches in diameter and almost dead center on the bottom front of the washer. Once you have unscrewed the unit, pull it out and clean out everything you see. Look inside and make sure there is nothing in the hose or the pump inlet hole. Reinstall and test for leaks before you put the panel back on. I recommend you clean this out every 6 months. Good Luck,

Broken drain pipe under washer tub

Well,i wouldn't solder the old pipe back on.You could replace the pipe or replace the tub entirely. But you're looking at about the same price to repair an old machine for the price of buying a new one.techs come at about $50 per hour and you're looking at about an 8 hour day to repair it.a new machine should run you about $ 400 to $ 500.

The Aprilaire is leaking around the casing attached to furnace

How old is the filter? Filters should be replaced every year. If its a new filter check to make sure the little hose is inside the hole at the tom of the filter.

Make sure your filter is clean, take the filter and head it to light. If it is clean then you can see a little hole in the midle.

How to locate and clean the lint trap

Top load washing machines do have lint filters, they used older models have trays that sit on top of the agitator. Newer ones aren't as obvious and are attached to the bottom of the inner tub. If you remove the agitator, you'll see a bunch of holes in the bottom of the tub, the filter right behind these holes. Cleaning/replacing it involves removing the inner tub, so it's not an easy task. It is likely that by the time you're having problems with the filter, it will be beyond cleaning and will need to be replaced. Considering all the trouble it takes to get to, you might as well.
