Burned Dvds Hi, I have burned several Dvd's but none of them will play in the Oritron DVD3116, or in the PS3, or in a nouther dvd player that is dvd/vcr combo. from Toshiba. I have converted the files before burning them. from .avi to mpeg2 and I have also tried leaving the files as .avi what can I do, or do any of these play burned dvds?

1.Have you finalized the discs?
2. have you checked the disk type the various players will accommodate not all machine will play all disks - this is particularly the case with CD/DVD - RW's
The read appropriate manuals

There are many chipset out there that go into playewrs but most recent ones can cope with burned disks.
I run slide shows and movies on burned CD's and DVD's
Strange though it seems it is the cheaper players that can cope with the most formats.

My VHS-to-DVD Burned Disc used to work and now it doesn't

Richard,

It could be your disc is scratched or DVD+R can't be read in the DVD player. Check for any scratches. Then pop in the disc in to your PC DVD, to see if it's readable.

If you have a manual for your RS remote , there should be a section on how to search for a code automatically. If not you have to buy the original remote, from Phillips online.
Hope this helps.

Once the setting for Progressive Scan output is entered,
an image will only be visible on a Progressive Scan compatible
TV or monitor. If you set Progressive Scan to On in
error, you must reset the unit. Pointing the remote at the
player, press the STOP (x) button to stop any disc that is
playing. Next, press the STOP (x) button again and hold it
for five seconds before releasing it. The video output will
be restored to the standard setting, and a picture will once
again be visible on a conventional analog TV or monitor.
