I have a problem with formating my phone. It crashed yesterday after the battery went flat. But I think the reason to why it crashed is that I have too many text messages stored on the phone (over 3500). My phone has been weird lately, ever since I started storing these text messages, it takes a very long time for it to load when I switch it on, and it freezes and dies sometimes. The thing is that it takes a really long time for it to load the message memory, so I can't access my inbox to delete the messages before the phone dies. I tried formating my phone but it's not done before the phone dies. I have a nokia 6288, and I just bought it, not long ago.So what should I do? Please help me!

What is the reason for formatting your phone? You can try restoring it to factory setting at the phone setting menu. it is also a way to format your phone back to original settings like brand new.
you can also format nokia 6288 using a special gadget for mobile phone repair and that cost much. you can use the restore factory setting option to save money. Same results if your unit is still working now.

Here’s how to hard reset or format your Nokia mobile phone: 1) Switch off your phone 2) Press and hold these 3 keys together: -green dial key -the star key(*) -the number 3 key (Ugh, I wish I had three hands…!!) 3) Power on the phone
Warning: Do not release the keys until you see a formatting screen and even after the phone has started. Wait until the initial sound starts to play and the hand animation is displayed.
MMC puchased should be formatted once, because new MMC comes with file system FAT-32. and mobile phones supports FAT file system. You can copy your data from MMC to PC using MMC reader/writer first. Then format it in your mobile and then reload your data in formatted MMC at folder created during formatting. Then you may see your MMC working properly.
