Canon g9 just started getting card locked error. I checked, the card is not locked - also tried different cards. It works sometimes. Tried to reset the settings and received "busy" message.

Check the right strap lug and see if it is loose. It is a well know problem with the G9 that the screws that hold it onto the top cover come lose and fall into the camera, causing many different problems is they short out parts of the circuit

My PNY HCSD 8GB card wont read in any of the various photo printers ive tried it in but will read in cameras and computers. its not locked and the previously mentioned printers have no problem with any...

There could be many reasons for this problem..
1. The card is just too big - some readers can only cope with 2 or 4 Gb max.
2. The card's transfer rate may not be compatible - there are many differing speeds at which they can run and not all readers can cope with it.
Have you tried connecting the camer to the printer via USB? pic-bridge etc. will use the camer itself as a card reader avoiding compatability issues.
Hope this helps.

I have a nikon d8800...when i take a photo the camera displays an error message. the only way to clear the message is to turn off the camera. when i turn it back on i see that the photo was saved...

In the absence of the contents of the message, I am going to guess that it is having some issue with the memory card. Memory cards have grown enormously in capacity in the last couple of years, and even relatively new cameras may not be able to cope with the memory size of the newest cards. Some cameras seem to work with too-large memory cards at first, then throw a serious tantrum as the card starts to fill.

I think you need to try formatting the card, using the camera's own function to do so. This will establish whether the card is compatible with the camera. BEFORE you do this, save your pictures to your computer, as they will be deleted by the format.

SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

MY DIGITAL CAMERE MEMORY IS FULL, WHEN I TURN ON MY CAMER IT SAID MEMORY IS FULL. I DON'T HAVE A CARD INSERTED IN BECAUSE WHEN I PUT THE CARD IN IT WON'T COME ON AT ALL. IT ONLY COMES ON WHEN I TAKE OUT OF...

camera's onboard memory is only 8MB, maybe 1 or 2 high resolution photo. delete the photo on the camera to clear error message and use only no more than 2 gig of sd card. It does not work with higher than 2 gig which is SDHC type sd card.

I have exactly the same problem with my camera, admittedly it did get dropped on the floor. There is no other damage to it but now cannot use it as the camera says the card is locked.....I have tried a new sim card and also locking and unlocking the card but this does not work either.

Any ideas would be gratefully recieved as the camera is only two weeks old!

Write error

Try reformatting the card either with the camers or an external reader. Also try a different card to make sure that it's the card malfunctioning and not the camera. It could also be something as simple as the card being locked (tiny switch located on side of card), just switch it the other way to unlock. If the card wont format internally or externally then it is spoiled and you need to get a new one.
