If your plumbing could have some crud in the lines, it can easily plug the filter and water valve of these dishwashers. The filter is usually a part of the valve assembly.

Another problem might be the switch that senses the water level.

Does not drain water

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

See the section for the basket and tub assembly's

I'd pull the cabinet in order to get to the hoses going to and from the pump first.

See the following:

Check that the hoses aren't blocked.

If the hoses are fine, check the shaft from the motor to the pump and check inside the pump to make sure the inlet and outlet aren't blocked.

Since it does spin (the motor has two shafts, one to the gearcase and the other directly connected to the pump, the motor is fine.

The hot water does not work...i check to hot water coming into the washer and its fine.

It has a troubleshooting section as well as testing procedures.

It sounds like a bad Water Inlet Solenoid. I'd follow the procedures for testing it.

See the following for how to release the console and cabinet if necessary.

Water does not drain from washing ma

Assuming that the washer will spin it sounds as if the pump / hoses are blocked or the pump is damaged.
