This issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. We cannot say if the timer is problem without inspecting the wiring to the pump.

Consider an power supply wire to the pump is broken , then even if the timer is good it wont get power.

flashing red start/pause button, wont spin or drain

The filter on this machine is behind the flat at bottom right of machine. Tilt machine back before unscrewing to avoid spillage. If filter is clear get back to me and will explore other possibilities.

not easy.suggest you disconnect pump and power up independently as an easy way to check if it runs
easiest way to remove pump - and its awkward - is to undo the 3 screws holding the pump to its housing

Plug off the wall. Check to see if all the wires are securely in place, not just with the pump, but all. At the motor un-plug & replug.

The ball is part of the system. They float up when there is water in the washer and as it drains if go's down. It sounds to me you must have a blockage somewhere, if you know the pump is operating in the drain cycle. If your sure there is no blockage and the ump is working I would replace the pump. On electric pumps they may work but if the impeller is worn from something that got into the pump it will spin but not pump the water out. Hope this helps you.
