Question about Canon MP970 Photo All-In-One InkJet Printer
The error could be that the waste ink is full. They count the number of cleanings and shut down the printer when the waste ink pad gets full.
One can clean the pad by rinsing until it is almost white and then use special software to reset the counter in the printer.
Look up maintenance software for your printer.
One has to disassemble the printer to get at the waste ink blotter.
