Fax from computer

First, you will need a USB fax modem. Then you use Windows Fax & Scan program to create/forward new fax documents, or even send a file as a fax or email.

Setting up your external modem to work with an internet telephone line is simple. Simply put a 2 way splitter into the internet modem telephone jack. Plug your telephone into one input and the external fax modem into the other. Then you can even dial from your computer routine telephone calls too.

REREINSTALL VIA A WIRELESS CONNECTION FIRST THEN ATTEMPT TO REFAX
Here are the recommended steps to connect to a wireless base router 1. Check and remove power from both your router and the DSL ROUTER/CABLE ROUTER MODEM 2. Wait one complete minute until applying power to modem then wait one minute before applying power to wireless router. 3. Ensure you have green lights across both devices, specifically, the recieved and sent lights. These same lights will tend to blink rapidly when there is active data, at times this will still blink, and a DNS error will prevent you from connecting to the internet. If this is the case, call your ISP Internet service provider 4. Check your authentication Security key on your router first, then check all your wireless devices to ensure they are on the same network name, key, and channel with the same type of encryption as the router 5. Start one device at a time and check for connectivity, if your still experiencing a problem, check the settings on all your wireless adapters, device drivers, internet browser settings, firewalls and proceed. 6. still have problems, connect a rj45 cable from the router directly to your computer to at least see if your wireless settings are bad or if the router may be bad. 7. Contact your ISP to determine if your receiving singal 8. Avoid using a splitter or parital power backup for yours routers 9. Still having problems, change your wireless router only after your ISP changes their faulty modem 10.Attempt the same process when setting up your new wireless router and or modem

How do I pair up my printer with my new moden?

Hello Melissa !

What you need to do is to physically connect the printer to the modem, now your computer should be connected hardwired or wireless to this modem.
When you connect the printer to the modem , the modem will assign an IP Address to the printer, you can look on this ip address by printing a configuration report from the printer itself.

Now we have 2 options here, use the software that came with the printer (installation disc) to install the device and at some point of the installation it should detect the printer automaticaly, just remember choosing "network install"

If you already have the software on your computer, you will need to uninstall / reinstall the software so the computer can detect the new ip address. Or you can set the ip address manually by going under printer and faxes on the control panel, make a right click on the P4350 icon, go to properties, then the "Ports" Tab and click Add Port, you will need to select Standard TCP/IP, click new .. and then type the IP Address

This should connect your printer with your new modem - computer

Good Luck !!

How do i set up to print wireless through the 2wire modem

One of the computers ,the ethernet computer, is set as the print server. If you mean that your printer is wireless, then the modem is not part of the printing process.
The computers talk to the printer for wireless printing. Check the printers manual.

LexmarLk X4850 fax wireless set-up

Printing: since Lexmark say you can either connect wirelessly or wired and not both, you must either connect your daughter's machine to the hub by wire or yourself to the printer wirelessly.

Fax: this will need a phone line.

How do I fax?

Sending a fax from your computer requires a fax modem and that your operating system be configured to allow you to send and receive faxes.

to send from fax software
step 1 Prepare the document that you want to fax. Step2 Prepare a fax cover sheet, if desired. Step3 Open your fax software - such as Microsoft Fax or Microsoft Exchange. Step4 Look for an icon or menu command that allows you to send a fax - such as Send New and Send Fax. Click on that item. Step5 Follow instructions for entering the fax number of the recipient and any other requested information. Be sure to include area codes and long-distance information if needed. Step6 Indicate whether you wish to send a cover sheet. Step7 When asked to attach the file, follow instructions to attach the file that you want to fax. Step8 When ready, click Send. The fax will begin to compile the information and, when ready, will dial the remote fax machine. Step9 When the connection is made, the fax will be sent. To Fax From Your Word Processing Program Step1 Some software products, such as Microsoft Word, allow you to fax a document without opening your fax software. Step2 Open the document that you want to fax. Step3 From the File menu, select Print. The Print window opens. Step4 Instead of printing to your default printer, look for an option that allows you to Print to Fax. Select this option and click Print. Step5 You will be asked to provide the recipient's fax number and other assorted information as with a fax program. Step6 The fax message compiles, the modem dials. If the connection is made with the other modem, the fax will be sent.
