Printer has red light.wont print - Samsung CLP 300 Laser Printer

    tried opening up back door. doesnt work. checked paper and its snug and it still doesnt work. red light is still on and wont print. any recommemdations?

    tried everything listed.

    solid red light.

    my blue and red toners are lit red as well.

    my blue and red toner lites are on as well (red lit) . can this b the problem? i need new color toners? why wouldnt it print just black if so?

Wow!!

One more Customer falls with this Problem.Mr Wiffle, this is a Common problem with This Model.Usually these symptoms are there just after paper Jam.Most of the Times, if you call Samsung, they would tell you to clean off the Rubber Piece with alcohol, and also take a knife to the rubber piece to rough it up to create more traction.If the Problem Persists, they would tell you to Replace the Parts.

You need to think before you get this Unit Repaired/Cleaned by a Tech :-

1. Cost Quote
2. How Old the Unit is?
3. Life Expectancy of these Printers
4. Investing in New Printer

If your printer's On Line LED is blinking red, your printer's toner is exhausted and needs to be replaced.
If your printer's On Line LED is glowing solid red, then the cause might be one of the following:

  • Printer paper is jammed inside your printer.
  • A cover is not being closed properly.
  • The toner cartridge is not inserted properly and needs to be reinstalled.
  • The toner cartridge is running low.
  • There is no paper in the paper tray.
  • The paper inside the paper tray is not be installed correctly.
Important: Before you perform any type of service on your printer that requires you to open the printer, turn the printer off, and then unplug it from the wall outlet.

    Fixing Paper Jams

    Paper jams usually occur
    in three areas of a printer. The following error messages indicate the area
    in which the jam has occurred:




    • Jam 0 indicates the
      paper failed to pass through the first sensor.

    • Jam 1 indicates the
      paper failed to pass through the second sensor and has jammed around the
      toner cartridge.

    • Jam 2 indicates the
      paper failed to pass through the second sensor and has jammed near the fuser.


    Directions to fix the paper
    jams indicated by each error message are below.






    Paper
    Jam 0


    When your printer displays Jam 0, paper has failed to pass through the first
    sensor.



    To remove the jammed paper, follow these steps:



    1. Power your printer off.

    2. Open the cover of your printer.

    3. Gently pull the paper toward you to remove it from the printer.
      Note:
      If you do not remove the paper slowly, you can damage the printer and the
      printer will require service.

    4. After removing the paper, make sure there is no additional paper in
      the paper path.

    5. Close the printer cover, and then power on your printer.



    If your printer still displays Jam 0 after you turn on the printer, unplug
    the printer, and then repeat the steps above. Make sure all paper has been removed
    and the printer's rollers are in their correct positions. Before turning your
    printer back on, make sure all the cover doors are fully closed.






    Paper
    Jam 1

First of all try the following -
To fix the problem you have to press the plate that the paper sits on down until it clicks into place once you do that it should work fine.

Wont print. solid red ink light. wont display ink levels


Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages,then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

Autosence your printer by turning it off and then hold down the feed button while turning it on and release feed button when light flashes red.

Red alarm wont go off and printer wont print


Damaged Hardware or firmware. Chances are the printer wont tell you which part. 

Sorry. IF you can find a schematic to locate the broken part and replace it yourself, that may be of use to you.

Which button has the red light or which LED light? Is it flashing or steady red light? turn it off and check for any obstruction and double check if you installed ink cartridges properly.
