Question about Panasonic Microwave Ovens

Open Question

Our Panasonic Inverter Steam Plus (model NN CS596S has just stopped working for no apparent reason. (It only 14 months old and we are still paying for it.) The plus/outlet works fine with another appliance. We were simply heating some water in the oven when it blue a fuse -- for not apparent reason. We reset the fuse and tried it again. It blew a fuse again. We have no idea where to find someone to serve this appliance here in Geneva Switzerland. (We are on government service here and we bought the item here.)

Thanks for this. Thats exactly what I did. It didn't work at first, however, I think it was my impatience! After selecting the Microwave, you MUST wait until you are told via the screen to input the time. It now works fine. Thanks again. Just needed perseverance! Mike

SOURCE: Buttons work hardly on my Miele M625EG

I have the same problem with my M625EG-ed from about the same period. My repairman said that it would be at least 300 € for a new unit. I opened it myself and cleaned the keypad with alcohol or aceton. It's not working perfect afterwards but it is better.
There's a fuse you have to take out when opening. Otherwise you can have problems with electricity (be carefull). The fuse I had, broke down and I had to buy a new one for 20 eurocents. Also watch out with the parts where the door closes. I had some problems with that too and now (after a few months), I had to buy a new connector part on the door (its the part of the door that closes the door and gives connection for the lights). This costed 12-13 € but I'm trying to install it now.

Panasonic microwave convection oven model NN-CD997S works normal but stop heating

Judging from the model and without looking it up I expect that unit has an inverter. If it is not the Switches and you have replaced the mag, the inverter is the power supply for the mag to work so either mag not getting power from inverter or inverter not getting signals from main PCB Timer board.

MY PANOSONIC INVERTER SHUTS DOWN AFTER 14 SECONDS MODEL # NNCD989S

Check again.

If it stops at 16 seconds and is a sensor model, it probably has a defective humidity sensor.

Order Panasonic parts from Encompass here or you can call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.

6 year old Panasonic 1250W High Power Inverter Microwave Oven (Model NN-S954WF) Manufactured May 2004 has completely died. Wondering what might be the problem and is it fixable or should we just get a...

These early inverter microwaves blew their high current power transistors quite regularly. These high current power transistors are quite expensive to replace, and if one blows, there is a likelyhood of others blowing. As the microwave is over 13 years old, I'd suggest getting a new one. Inverter technology in microwaves is now a mature technology, resulting in reasonable prices and much improved reliability.

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

Let us know if the hard reset does not fix it.

If it stops at 16 seconds and is a sensor model, it probably has a defective humidity sensor.

If it stops after 22 seconds, that means the controller has detected a problem, usually a problem with the inverter or a bad magnetron.

If you do indeed have a problem, Since it's less than one year old, it should be fully covered under warranty. I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to get it fixed free.

I would recommend that you contact your nearest Panasonic-authorized servicer.

Microwave stops after 14 seconds.

In most cases, this is a problem with the inverter or a bad magnetron.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.

I would recommend that you contact your nearest Panasonic-authorized servicer. You can find one here.

Microwave shutsdown after 24 seconds, does not heat up

Classic symptom of a defective inverter. It it's under warranty, you're probably in luck. If not, expect repair costs of about $120-150. If you can find a servider who will repair the inverter instead of just replacing it, you can save some money. If you or a friend can replace it yourself, you'll really save, assuming you follow safe procedures. You can find my file "safety.txt" via a Yahoo search. It is part # A606Y5X00AP for model NN-T993S and runs $62.83 plus shipping. The inverter can be gotten from Panasonic at http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/epartr
